saw a video essay about this game over a year ago & decided not to watch it because i was immediately drawn in by the art style & atmosphere & i wanted to avoid spoilers. this has now become one of my top 5 favorite games, if not top 3! i'm currently on my 2nd playthrough & it's still so good. the art & music are incredible & they develop an uncanny & uneasy atmosphere. it is full of a unique & memorable cast of characters with eye-catching designs. the story is captivating &, while slightly convoluted at times, perfect for anybody who loves the surreal.

A game with incredible atmosphere and inspiring art direction. A lot's been said about this art direction and the feeling it gives, so I'll focus on other aspects. For one, despite being a point-and-click adventure I found this surprisingly playable. You're not going to be solving obtuse puzzles, and you can get a sense of who to talk to next by speaking to NPCs often. There's also a log that records conversations, so you don't need to physically backtrack to any character just to remember what they've said. Only once did I need to look up outside information on the game, and it was what hook, bait, etc to use to get a specific fish that I couldn't find in game but was mandatory for story progress. I do wish the UI matched the game better. I'm not talking about the one you see at all times that rather intelligently fills a modern 16:9 aspect ratio, but deeper in the menus, and the start menu. It's incredibly basic and somewhat betrays the style of the game. I also find the font regularly used (like in dialogue and such) to be such a mismatch. I know readability is important and all, but there's *zero* flair to the choice they went with. But that's nitpicking. If you have any appreciation for this aesthetic or curiosity about this once-lost game, just make the leap.

just finished up my first playthrough of this game and i enjoyed it so much, instantly one of my favorites. it has made me cry, made me incredibly confused, and made me really happy to put everything together also. definitely gonna go through another run and get all achievements and all endings and all of that and just have fun with it. genuinely i talked to my coworkers about this game because i was, and still am, so obsessed with it.

A super obscure Japan-only point-and-click adventure with a run-down diesel-punk aesthetic with themes of loss-of-identity and mental-illness-how-many-more-hyphens-can-I-add-to-this?? AND it has fishing??? I was very impressed to also learn that the people behind this version of the game have updated and balanced it since release, rather than just leaving it as is. If literally any of that sound interesting then I'd recommend checking it out!

Really has to be played by more people, the fact that this incredibly unique game exists and was recovered from its lost media status to be put on Steam with a translation is nothing short of a miracle
