i actually hate this game so much. nothing else in my steam library makes me as ferociously upset as this game and its piss-poor management. 75% of this game is just getting lucky with your clicks that you're forced to make with no solace or reassurance that wherever you end up won't be a FUCKING MINE THAT YOU CAN'T AVOID AND HAVE TO RISK IN ORDER TO WIN. i hate this game and i hate indonesia

Nothing difficult. Sometimes your blood pressure raises up, when you hit a mine in the last few steps :D

exploring unknown countries one by one is just fun, sweeping away mines.
that i can either create or see other interesting maps is another taste of this game.
i would love to make a new one soon.
Short temper? Don't play this game
For a fiver sure, it's fine, but I don't recommend this game unless you're an enjoyer of banging your head against a wall. It plays just like original minesweeper but the flaw with this one is the "AI" that places the mines. You will, without fail, play some maps 20, 30 times simply because you're forced into situations where you're left with no choice but to guess where mines are. Trust me after the 6th time of clearing Russia just to be left pushed into a corner (or multiple corners) and nothing but the luck of the dice by your side, you get pretty p!ssed off retrying again and again.

Once again, I really wish Steam had some sort of neutral option for reviews because I have some really mixed feelings about this game and I feel really bad giving it a No.
I think this is a really cute concept for a Minesweeper game, and if it was executed better I would have a lot more than two hours logged right now. Clearing country maps one by one and seeing the world map gradually fill with color as you progress sounds really, really satisfying. I also like that this game has Workshop support as well, with a more Picross-esque twist to it where you reveal some cool pixel art when you're done.
That said, this game has two glaring problems that really need to be addressed.
First off, with how enormous some of these maps are (I'm looking at you, Russia), there really needs to be a "Save and Quit" option. I am not doing all of that in a single sitting, especially when I'm mainly playing this on my Steam Deck during my breaks at work.
Second and arguably far more important, the mine-placing AI needs a lot of work. It feels like 80% of the time I end up stuck in an impossible situation at the end of a map having to literally guess where that last damn mine is and end up losing all my progress due to sheer bad luck when I guess wrong. On top of that, the cost to undo such a "mistake" is so expensive that it's never worth it. That is horrible design for a puzzle game. When your Minesweeper game uses non-rectangular boards, especially with small and/or separated areas, it's even more important that you get that aspect right. This is especially important to do now that the upcoming 2.0 update is going to automatically generate tiles for Workshop levels as opposed to the manual placement that occurred before.
I don't hate this game, but I really, really want to love it and I just can't because i always end up eventually getting frustrated every time I play it through no fault of my own.
If the developers see this and fix these problems, I will GLADLY change this review to a glowing Yes.

This game has been one of my favorite minesweeper-style games that I have played for quite a while. Having all sorts of maps to play through makes for a very different experience. The controls are easy enough to deal with, feeling super comfortable with them quickly, and being able to zoom in and out with a minimap is a huge plus for me.
This is one of the few minesweeper-style games that I have played that have an undo option that doesn't hurt you in any way [in Tametsi you can undo if you hit a mine, but in the menu screen after beating the level, instead of the level lighting up blue, it's white. This is forgiving in this mode as all the levels in that game can be beaten without guessing].
There are some things that I personally would like changed about this game, however, such as:
- Having an option to click and drag to fill in tiles in the Creator mode, or having an option to fill in a space with tiles, alongside an undo option. Having to individually click every single tile can be tedious especially with huge maps like when I did Charlotte Roval. [UPDATE: FIXED]
- Having a no-guess OPTION for maps. It's pretty frustrating getting to the very end of a huge puzzle flawlessly but having that perfect run go down the drain because of a 50/50 chance not going your way. I'd like to make this an option as most of the time having randomly generated no-guess minesweeper boards, takes away from some really hard and fun logic and can be easily completed with no difficulty.
- Have the first click of a puzzle be a guaranteed field click. This can help solve a lot of issues with constantly restarting because you hit a mine on your second click.
I would highly recommend this game to anyone that is a fan of minesweeper style games, but I will say that having to guess sometimes can be frustrating. This could be simply because of how some of the maps are, such as Norway, Chile, and especially Indonesia. Having a guaranteed safe click for each island could be a way to fix this.

This port is fantastic and I was incredibly excited for it I played the game on mobile for a while and this port has hope.
A few criticisms I have are:
This version is missing the difficulty level for each country
You can't use arrow keys or WASD to move the screen around
I like the textures for flags and numbers on the mobile version more
Hope this helps!
