This game attempts to channel the spirit of Doom, Rise of the Triad, and Duke Nukem 3D, and at first glance, it seems to succeed with its retro-inspired art style and enemy designs. However, closer inspection reveals inconsistencies—some enemies look like they came from completely different games, as if pulled from various asset packs.
The level design is just as problematic. It’s way too easy to fall through the map, get stuck in terrain, or be trapped between objects due to poorly implemented hitboxes. The controls feel like Catacomb Abyss if your keyboard had been dunked in Mountain Dew, and the motion blur doesn’t help. There’s very little in the way of visual or audio customization, making the experience even more frustrating.
The soundtrack? Imagine My First Dark Synth—repetitive and uninspired. If a five-year-old composed it, I’d be impressed. If anyone older did, I’d suggest leaving music composition to those with actual talent.
With only a handful of maps (about 6-8), you pick one, clear waves, and earn achievements. That’s it. It feels like an asset flip, though I can’t verify it. If it isn’t, that doesn’t really change the outcome. Either way, this one isn’t worth your time.
