i would have to say its a very different kind of game, nothing groundbreaking. But the game has sweet charm to it and tells the story really good even if it feels like there are holes sometimes. Game play is fun and interesting, and it investgation method it went with uses some good things and brings some new ideas to the table. i do really enjoy how the converstions change up on depending how you answer and also effects the ending of the game. all i would recommend the game, its not to long of play through, and with having an alternate ending give a pretty good reason for another play through.

I don't get why people don't like this game This is THE Cyberpunk game. Have y'all nerds EVER read a Cyberpunk book? Neuromancer is about a hacker uncovering a larger conspiracy Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is about a bounty hunter with questions to what it means to be a human Altered Carbon is about transferring consciousnesses uncovering a conspiracy Count Zero is about corporate espionage In all of these books, especially the proto-Cyberpunk novels of Philip K. Dick, you see a lot of jazz and blues, everything is synthetic, real steak and alcohol is insanely hard to find, the ''Detective'' speak as Peter Gunn character used to talk like in the same-named show back in 1958. The books, their iterations, have always been written to be dramatic, cinematic, have that futuristic noir, retro-futuristic technical design and a grimy outlook on future with a capitalistic dystopia where governments are allowing corporates to do anything with human lives, to find immortality, to create a heaven for themselves while others suffer, and et cetera. If you for a moment think games like Shadowrun (Where Dragons are CEOs lmao?) or Cyberpunk 2077 (Which are both amazing) are the correct and intended implementation of the genre, get a move on and start reading instead of gooning on rule34. This game is an amazing Cyberpunk game, with very good plot twists, hooking storyline, good dialogues and a very good (its not the best) soundtrack. If you're looking for a Cyberpunk game where you can just shoot, kill, grind money and become richer than the literal god of the universe just play another game. If you're looking to pop a fake moonshine on top of your auto-pilot car and question your morale and your stance on past experiences while smoking a cigarette and watching the dystopian City crumble itself, buy and play it.

Visually stunning, Nobody Wants to Die nails the aesthetic it was going for. Gritty 1920's style noir meets a futuristic, almost steampunk-y city. The developers really took great care in capturing exactly the sort of world they wanted, and at times you simply have to stop and marvel at it. Everything about how this game looks and feels is incredible. Unfortunately, the game itself doesn't quite measure up to the vibe it generates. The time manipulation case solving mechanic is unique and a fun way to explore the cases you have to solve. Until you realise they solve themselves. You're not using critical thinking, you're just watching "interactively" what happens. It's basically a visual novel wrapped in an intriguing wrapper. The story is good, but probably doesn't quite work overall, especially once you realise the game doesn't actually challenge you, and only a couple of choices you make actually matter. Even then, they don't matter that much. If this was a tech demo for what the developers could make, then it would have succeeded. However, it's priced and marketed as a full game, which doesn't really do enough. I hope the developers dive into this world again and make something more meaty and lengthy next time. Because this is a decent enough starting point, but I feel like they could do so much more with this universe. If the next iteration ramps up the gameplay, it could be a hit. But for now, this is intriguing at best, mediocre at worst, unless you like staring off into the grim dark rain from the hood of your car in the sky...

Amazing visuals, atmosphere, aesthetics and theme of the entire world, the concept is certainly unique, but also horrifying to think about, which makes it even better. It's probably one of the most dystopian games i've ever played, there is no almost no hope at all, the world is an empty husk, which is also fitting to the lore itself. They really pulled off the noir, steampunk, 1930s-1950s America look, everything matches well. The audio quality is pretty good, soundtracks are decent aswell. Controls are quite basic and easy to learn. Gameplay itself is mostly just walking around and solving puzzles, very casual, but enjoyable. I would say the biggest downsides of the game are : 1) Choices really don't matter, other than 2 major ones, which is very Telltale-ish, but somehow even more limited. A lot of dialogue gets locked out and there's no rhyme or reason to even begin to understand, how to unlock them. For a game all about dialogue, it is definitely on the weaker side. 2) The game is a bit too vague and intentionally misleading you down the wrong path to deceive you, it's okay if you come to certain conclusions yourself but it comes off a bit too strong to try and subvert your expectations. At a certain point, it just becomes too outlandish to even consider other options, logic breaks down and it becomes another "haha i fooled you" stereotype in writing. 3) The game does feel a bit rushed, like they ran out of funding and had to cut out a lot of potential content to squeeze everything into the story. It jumps a bit too fast from place to place, it's just a very short game. Which also leads to the problem of the vagueness of the story, there is no certainty or actual conclusions, it just leaves you with more questions and considering this game will probably never get a sequel, it should, it just doesn't scratch the itch it gave you. Overall, it's clear that a lot of love went into making this game and it's just a shame that such a unique concept has been squandered, i think it was just a financial problem and the fact it's a fairly unknown studio. The corpos probably didn't see much potential in this and decided to play safe. I usually never write reviews this long, but i can definitely sense, that in another universe, this game was an absolute hit and that's just a bummer.

First off i gotta say the visual astetics is amazing and i love the mechanics. The main downside i have to this is the amount of handholding this game has, i got the game expecting it was a detective figure it yourself simulator but everything is really just handed to you. I honestly wouldnt mind side stuff to do to try and figure out who culprits are without guidance to help drive the thinking factor but that really wasnt the case. Also the ending really didnt feel all the great and while got me thinking it ultimately was a bit of a letdown. The theme, the style, the graphics the gameplay really got me interested and they are fantastic, but the story, especially near the end i had the "I dont really enjoy this so i hope it ends soon" feeling just to see if there was something worthwhile in the end, but led to dissappointment.

I just did a marathon play through of this game and found it can really drag in between detective sections and doesn't have enough detective sections in the game. Even trying to search for everything, there are just blocks put in place that stop you from figuring things out. The game holds your hand pretty hard and doesn't let you figure out the mystery on your own, worse even if you stop and take your time you will be blocked from figuring our anything until the the hand holding catches up. It could have easily been done with their own mechanics, but they just didn't because they need to add in more animations of your character wildly swerving, drinking and vomiting. In cut scenes they have so many interesting things happening, most of which you can't look at because they don't let you control the camera. You WILL look at what they think is important and can't take in the whole scene even if you have been looking at that thing for the last 10 mins. I really thought this could have what I wanted which was a detective story, but they didn't really let you do the detective part and were too married to being gritty, whining about a dead wife and telling you the story instead of you figuring out the story.

Great neo-noir, near-cyberpunk detective story for a couple of evenings. Optimization could be better, but overall a solid 8/10.

I really liked this game's universe so much that I did 3 runs overall. :) Each run allowed me to understand better what was going on and spot what I had previously missed. I heavily recommend it for people enjoying more a story-telling/puzzle kind of game as you mainly follow the story and, while some choices do change the outcome, it never radically change it (not like in, say, Heavy Rain or Detroit Become Human).

The game accomplishes what it sets out to do pretty well, I loved the narrative and setting. Cyberpunk New York mixed with 1920s Noir creates an intriguing and beautifully crafted world. The detective gameplay is heavily on-rails and gets a little stale soon, but it makes up for it with a narrative that really pulls you in. I was constantly reminded of Altered Carbon in a good way and I love the societal, existential and moral problems the story touches upon. Sadly, the game suffers a bit from shotty voice acting at times, some of the dialogue is noticably re-recorded and sounds different, which ruins immersion and flow a bit. Apart from that, the VA is mostly well done. 7/10

It's an interactive movie, about 4 hours long, but if you get it in sale for like 10 euro like me, it can be fun. The only thing that I don't like is that the game has multiple endings and you can't load previous chapters to see all of them.. And I didn't find it good enough to play it twice.
