the greatest game to ever grace this mortal coil.

Far more linear than West of Loathing which is much to it's detriment, the stat checks are way too strict and require constantly swapping out this buff or that buff. Not nearly as good as I would have liked. I'd recommend the old web game "Kingdom of Loathing" more than this one.

Definitely a fave. Played the previous one, "West of Loathing," on console and laughed the whole time. This series is so happily snarky and aware of itself. Everything is comic relief even down to some of the settings, and you'll still be surprised where it can sneak in a cheeky joke. The player is expected to wander off on side quests and explore the world-building, so you might find yourself wondering "Wait, what's my main goal again?" The combat can be frustratingly confusing if you're unfamiliar with tabletop RPGs (I was), but you get the hang of it once you realize the needed info is right in front of you. Beyond that, whole game is 2D exploration and a lot of text-only dialogue peppered with skill checks. Get this game if you need to lighten up. Make some silly choices in a silly game, and you'll feel good again.

This is the game I point to when I want to impress the point that you don't need cutting edge graphics to tell an engrossing and entertaining story. The diverse range of colorful characters, zany but still coherent plots, and creative range of ways to solve (or fail!) scenarios you come across put this game in the highest tier of beloved RPGs I've played. And I'm saying that as someone with multiple playthroughs that wildly varied, but *still* haven't come close to 100% this game because there's just that many potential routes and outcomes. I appreciate how much replayability this game has! I would recommend it to anyone because there's honestly a bit of something for everyone in this game, and the horror themes never get *too* graphic for those of weaker stomachs because, well, it's stick figures with a comedic noir edge. This is as close to a perfect game as you can get.

Extremely funny and well-written game. It's not often that a game makes me want to keep playing it into the long hours of the night, so I highly recommend it. You always end up wanting to do *just one more thing*.

If you enjoyed west of loathing you will love this game. The same exact humor, unpredictability, chaos, and tomfoolery are present in this game as well. There's so much content to check out and I've still yet to complete the game

LOVE IT. I'm in chapter 4 and this is awesome: I adore all the little, big and nerdy jokes they planted in, references to older games, like Day Of Tentacle and serious sciencey jokes as well, like Hilbert's hotel. This game i'm more suicidal and i think it's a self inflicted spittoon induced sleaze armor, because i would without put a hand deep into a cow (or anyone/anything else) through any hole if there was an inventory item inside :) Loathing games are the funniest games i have probably ever played. Great job devs :) Btw: the game not accepting latin phrase 'Romani eunt domus' is missed opportunity :D

Well written comedic game, a worthy sequel, with simple and fun inventory and combat systems. I will say that on linux I didn't get achievements though.
