The game uses a third person view, with first person vision. Meaning the players head bob is off the chart. The player walks or runs and the camera goes wildly like a third person camera would. Some good fundamentals in here, with markers to show where to go next. But after getting 3 keys, and finding a locked computer, combined with the head bob, I just lost interest in opening any more doors or story or anything with the game. I'm sure some might like the game. Might be too much grind for me at the moment. Best of luck.

Overall I liked it. It's a fun short horror game. Not particularly scary, but it's good at building tension in the beginning and the monsters can really come up on you quickly enough to give you a good jump. I did have some gripes about it. First, the codes to the doors were *very* difficult to find in some cases. I think most people would have just given up. The AI isn't very bright, but might be a good thing because its a lot faster than you are. The story doesn't make any sense, but it could just be open to interpretation I suppose. None of those things were really deal breakers for me though. I had a good time with it.

What is The Hole? Well, given the level of "humour" on display in this "fantasy horror dark comedy" and it being solely crudely stupid innuendo, I can't be bothered to find out to be able to tell you. There's a couple of possible interpretations, what with it being how prisoners refer to solitary confinement and this is set in a prison. Yet, why if this is actually an eerie horror (which it atmospherically manages to be), is every single person mentioned in the game a stupid joke? Phil Accio, Harry Azcrak, Lou Briccant, and so on and so on. Here you are having woken up in normal suburbia and doing some mundane chores, when a series of spooky events sees you mysteriously teleported to a prison that is being roamed by some kind of monster. What then follows is a tedious and clunky hunt for clues and items whilst the monster can be heard snarling off somewhere in the distance, or occasionally appearing and then...well....it just disappears again. The game is weird because it seems like a fair bit of effort was put into giving it a creepy atmosphere and a fairly well designed environment. Somewhere along the way though they just went "f*ck this for a game of soldiers" and threw in the towel, then chucked out this piece of sh*t for a dirt-cheap price. Tonally there's a massive contrast between the relatively effective opening sequence, a mildly intriguing concept, decent graphics, sound and ambient music, that's then presented with sloppy controls and the immature and unfunny "humour". It's 79p and even less when I bought it on sale, but what is the point of it? It shows a 3rd person view on the steam page yet it wouldn't ever work for me in-game, nor did crouching, and sometimes the first-person camera would pass through bits of scenery. It's unpolished and boring, and it's this which bothers me most about this "game". I don't know why it's sh*tting on it's own story but I don't care to find out. This had potential but has clearly been shoved out uncooked to die an embarrassing death. At least when they're ripping off unsuspecting buyers it's not costing you that much money, though that's hardly a great selling point is it?
