Mix 1 part puzzle game and 4 parts Escher scenery porn and you get Monument Valley. It's not very long, but it's great while it lasts.

i think my dad buying this game for me on my phone has monumentally changed the way i see design in my life.
this game is simply BEAUTIFUL! it's creative, relaxed and not pushing on the player - it makes you appreciate the surroundings and the puzzles themselves even more
it's also pretty short, but it's not a problem for a game that costs 2 euros on a sale.

Loved it!
Great to play with someone else on the couch. Take turns to solve levels. It's really amazing to see hot they play with perspectives and when you think you've seen everything the game has to offer they bend your mind again.
Loved the totem, it was so cute 🥰

I got this version coz I liked he idea of replaying it through but with a panoramic view. I thought I'd finish it in an instant but, I was so blown away with the big screen HD experience, where it was as if I myself had been drawn deeply immersed into the MV world: that I couldn't help but want to take my time, enjoy the scenic views, almost as though to breath in the fresh air of the places within expansive world of "Monument Valley". I was no longer merely playing a game called Monument Valley, I had actually entered Monument Valley, and it was absolutely breathtaking.

Beautiful visuals, and the puzzles are a brain scratch but never too hard.
The story has this melancholic feel to it.
The main story is a bit short but there's additional content

I own both parts on mobile. The controls there are WAY better. It's a mobile game, intended for a device with a touch screen and being controlled with one's finger rather than with a mouse. Not a lot of settings & overall is not worth it on PC in my opinion. I would understand it for free (at least for people that already own it I guess?), but paying for this poor port is not something I'd do if I knew about the clanky controls in the first place.
Plus, everything is so... empty? A lot of empty space around the main structures, you're kinda locked without the ability to change any of that. Can't skip animations, either, but they are SO slow, it's annoying.
My fav chapters are 8 & 9 I think, but everything before it is just meh. It's not as good as I remember, and not a lot of in game content, either.
Again, get it on MOBILE if you must.

To keep it short and simple, just like the game itself: Gorgeous art, soundtrack and gameplay. Literally perfection!

While artistically and technically impressive and revolving around an interesting concept, I whish the developers had done more with it. Outside of the two last levels of main game and DLC, I can honestly barely call this a "puzzle" game, as for the most part it's practically linear and doesn't require any thinking whatsoever. The moments requiring any brain activity are few and far between even considering game's very short duration (which wouldn't be a problem, had it provided a more concentrated experience). Overall I'd only recommend it if you either really enjoy the visuals or are a very casual player and can get it on a discount.

Wow, just wow! First things first, it's one of these rare puzzle games that can also be atmospheric when something awesome it's really happening, it never feels like it's too slow and/or boring, and it always innovates itself and surprises you.
I mean, even the basic idea was awesome, but it still kept evolving more and more, even in the already included DLCs (that isn't a given for most games, above all in DLCs). And it manages to do all that even in the situations where you have to collaborate with other beings in the game, which is usually when many games make you slow down a lot to do annoying puzzles that just take more times instead of being truly difficult, while in this game I think it makes things even more dynamic. I still have to play the second game, but I can already say that personally this and The Last Campfire are the best purely puzzle games between the many ones that I've seen and/or played. If the second is also this good or even better, I could say the same for the whole Monument Valley series also, I'm also excited for the third one coming very soon
