This game can be completed quite quickly but even thought it short its it fun to play. Whiles you play the game you can unlock different power ups that will appear on your next play through and change how you can play.

Descentium shows promise, but it's clearly unfinished. Animations are laughable, most things don't have any sound and the tutorial makes things sound more convoluted than they actually are. Enemies sometimes get stuck in terrain and my first run ended because an enemy spawned right on top of me and I got stuck. The second weapon is OP as it has uncapped fire rate, even though it's clearly not supposed to. There's even a typo on top of everything else.
Even for 5€ I can't recommend it at its current state.

This game is full of bugs and typos with very little to show for it.
The second unlockable weapon is absurdly broken due to having an uncapped fire rate, the stim is by far the best item since it allows you to replenish 30hp for free each level (otherwise you can only recover health if you get lucky enough to find an upgrade area, and it costs to heal), each level feels the same with no visual differences, the enemies are simultaneously too easy and too hard (melee enemies are easy to avoid, the ranged guys can be unpredictable and really annoying), every boss fight is incredibly easy, the dash is way better than the grappling hook (it's even possible to go out of bounds with it pretty easily), it's a bad idea to unlock new door types because it reduces the chance you'll get the two different descentium doors which are way better than every other door (more currency)....
I can keep going, but it should be pretty clear that this game has incredibly major core design issues. It ends incredibly abruptly too, the last boss has no real buildup, dies, and then the credits instantly roll.
It feels like this is the first step of a bigger project. This feels like an early alpha demo for a bigger game, but it isn't labelled as early access and costs £5, implying this is the finished state that the game is meant to be in.
Did I get enjoyment out of it in its current state? Sure, I guess. Was it because the game itself was enjoyable and fun? Not really, I just get a kick out of playing bad/broken games and trying to figure out the best way to play them. This might be an interesting curiousity if you want to play something blatantly unfinished, but otherwise you should avoid it.

A fun little game for passing the time. The environments and assets are pretty to look at, and games with parkour mechanics are an old favourite of mine. I'd say give this a chance, if you're wanting something new to play.

Well, I gave up on it pretty quickly. First issue was a soft-lock during the tutorial that I had to alt+f4 out of. Second was during the first mission I took, which was a parkour stage with a pretty strict time limit, where I learned the horrors of jumping. It's so floaty I'm convinced this is a sequel to Peach's version of Super Mario Bros. 2. Couple that with the ability to only sometimes mount a wall (seemingly at the game's whim) and the general lack of polish on things like animations (or lack thereof), and I have to score this negative. I'm not sure if the game is bad from front to back, but I know I don't have the patience to find out. If it had been an early access game, then I could probably overlook some of this, but if the devs think this was good enough to release, then I have little faith in their judgement.
