I liketh to play this game when I desire to speak in the tongue of Spain, and to visuleth mine comfort character.'Tis a goodly product of respect, and I can with firm affirmation say 'tis wrought with love. Verily, 'tis a delight to see the prose wend its way from lofty heights of reason to the merry meanders of absurdity! I look forward to meeting again with Cardenio and Lucinda.

What a beautiful little game. In its current state, QUIJOTE offers merely about half an hour of gameplay. However, the visuals are endearing, the music is gorgeous, and the voice acting – currently only available in Spanish, but with the text in perfect English, that works just as well for me – is stunningly good. As far as I can tell, the storytelling is true to the source material. The gameplay itself may be fairly simple and not hard by any means, but is very satisfying regardless; I didn't even notice how time passed as I played through the game. Overall, this game feels like a true labor of love. I truly hope that this game will be able to leave Early Access one day. But even if it doesn't, at a price of only 1.49 €, there's nothing to regret about purchasing it.

Pros -Story with narrator in Spanish (very well performed) -Very loyal to the original work -Very good quality graphics and artwork -Moderately interesting gameplay -Currently very very low price Cons -For the moment only 2/7 chapters/levels available -The gameplay at times feels a bit slow. But well, the experience is positive I think, is a nice way to learn the history of Don Quixote for those who did not read the original work.

I have a whopping 27 minutes of playtime in this game thus far, which is as much as it took to play the proof-of-concept early release. It didn't cost much and I don't feel cheated for a few reasons. - I went looking specifically for a card battler and this one was a stand out from the rest - The art style is pleasant and unique - I really like the mechanic of collecting potential combat cards on the overmap before being forced into the fight - It has a real dungeoneer feel to the blocks and attacks mechanics in combat - The game (with the current narrative and two playable levels at time of this review) are faithful to the source material. - The narration in Spanish with language subtitled in your preferred language does for great immersion into the fact that this is a historically placed source. Hopes for the future -It's gonna need a tutorial because the UI, though learnable by trial and error, is not immediately obvious, especially how a turn ends and how the cards in the tactical map work. The combat UI is a little more basic, but still unique enough that it wouldn't hurt to have a tutorial. -The current overmap doesn't suggest very much total time in-game to come. I hope that there are multiple maps or an embellishment of what is there. It may require a slight departure from Cervantes and his narrative. -I hope that when you do get some decent voice acting for the bits of narration in English and all of your other user designated languages that your voice actors have Spanish accents and not English accents. Overall I really like this game and can't wait to see it grow.
