Enjoy the game a lot. As good as Doom.

Nostalgic, just like the old classic FPS games. Loved it!
Finding out that this game was developed in Construct just blew my mind.

Won't open on Steam Deck. Just gets stuck on opening page. Most non verified games still play, but this does nothing. Tried Experimental, 9. 8, 7, nothing. Steam discussion suggests game is totally abandoned. I did play the Demo on Deck however.

Has a low FOV for a DOOM clone with no way to change it in the menu. It has an issue where it will just snap your view to different angles causing u to be looking in a completely different direction. No communication from the developer in the discussions.

I kind of hate that I enjoyed this game because much of the gameplay is utterly terrible. If you can get past the horrible first 1/3 of bland exploring of a storage area, you'll eventually be outrunning pools of gastric juice and fighting aliens that look like The Beholder from Dungeons and Dragons. In other words, it takes some time to experience the quirky weirdness you'd expect from a title like this.
The gameplay is like Wolfenstein as it's a plodding corridor crawler- there are only 3-4 enemy types in each of the three major areas so the gameplay gets extremely repetitive. The game mixes it up by adding turrets and some environmental hazards. There are also three bosses, if you play on hard they are pretty tough as you are given just enough ammo to kill each one- in other words, your shots can't miss.
I suppose the reason I recommend this game is because it reminds me of one of those mediocre derivative FPS games from the 90s. The game seems to strive for mediocrity, and yet there is a method to the madness- for example, you only get five weapons, and each time you upgrade each weapon it adds a single bullet. Logically, if your pistol was shooting one bullet and now it's shooting two, you're doing double damage. It's great "terrible game" arithmetic that I enjoyed doing, along with finding various secrets that are necessary because you are given just enough ammo to finish each stage. Also, your ammo is reset to a preset amount in each area so you can't play conservatively and save extra ammo for the harder parts. I kind of liked this since it meant I had to find strategies for each level instead of exploiting the ammo system like I typically do in a game like this.
Also, the music is totally awesome and way too good for the game, and the graphics, while generic and bland also drip with weirdness, as they should, since the game is called "Gastro Force." Ironically, the environmental collision damage is horrible so the pools of gastric acid and exploding enemies that knock off your health will frustrate your health. I really enjoyed beating it and I will never play it again!

A simple shooter much akin to Wolfenstein 3D, Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold & Planet Strike. Fans of Old School shooters might enjoy it for the nostalgia but for anyone else who doesn't like the old style "Boomer Shooters" the gameplay will get stale rather quickly. All in all, not bad for $6.99 with the pros and cons being it's an easy game to pick up and play and is dumb, simple fun, but there's no options to change Key Bindings as it looks like it was ported from an Xbox console and the "Enter" Key will bring up the in-game menu instead of the traditional "Esc" Key. Not really "game-breaking" stuff, it just would have been nice to know.

If you want a retro FPS like Doom, Wolfstein but alien theme, this is your game. Easy to play and each stage show us new weapons, enemies and different exploration in the stages. I recommend it.

flow game with a very good design, fun especially if you're a fan of first-person shooters, where players move through labyrinthine corridors and rooms full of opponents.
The game's plot an engaging mix of science fiction and horror, a classic of this genre that is still quite successful today.

Gastro Force is a decent Retro Style FPS. It offers a good challenge and a cool 16 bit art style. The game is about 3-4 hours long which I found to be a decent length.
My main complaint's are that while the game does its best to change things up as you go along, it gets a bit samey. also the guns feel a bit weak and kind leave a lot to be desired in terms of sound design. Speaking of there is only one song that plays for all the levels and while sounds good, it gets old real quick.
I would recommend for anyone looking for yet another Retro Style FPS to play through because it is a decent time despite it's short comings. Best to get it on sale as I feel there a better alternatives out there for a cheaper price.

I would like to appreciate this game, but i cant, it has some strong "First Game" energy, as it has some details that just makes it clumsy to play. The FOV is too low for a retro FPS game, it commits some mistakes that have been long forgotten now adays(like trash starting weapons), the enemy AI is... existent and the combat feels somewhat dull, the graphics are almost eye-tearing with how pixelated they are and the music sounds like out of a random Royalty Free bundle you can find in Groupees. Im am fully aware that game development its not easy, but i have seen cheaper games like Carnal and Zortch do more with less, so i just guess that for 4 dollars, my expectations were a bit higher.
