I want to preface this review by saying that I'm not a negative person, nor do I usually find games "bad", usually I find them mediocre at best. I also want to say that I hold nothing against the dev for my criticism of this game, no matter how harsh it sounds, I can tell that an effort was made, and as a (likely) first project, I think the product does well.
However, I cannot say that I enjoyed my time with this game either.
The game was a confusing and buggy mess, with a strange story that barely gets me connected to any of the characters, and feels more like an unnecessary amount of angsy, edge, and "sadboi" tropes thrown at the protagonist, who's life is apparently a living hell but he was in denial for so long.
There's also the problems around Aoi who (spoilers ahead)
the game seems to try to paint as the "true antagonist", in both some ending dialouge, and the secret ending, (which may I add the game makes 0 attempt to tell you that the info is in the files), so her and Finn''s relationship is just confusing
.
I have to mention that the problem isn't that the game is dark and depressing, in fact, most of my favorite RPG Maker games (OMORI, OFF, End Roll, Hello Charlotte, In Stars And Time etc), all revolve around dark themes, topics, and scenarios. But this game doesn't provide us with: A reason to care about the character, a reason that it's happening outside of "everyone secretly hates him", or enough time to digest what's going on, flesh out character relationships, explain anything, etc.
Combine all this with a somewhat buggy game that's easy to accidentally break, and this was just something I didn't have fun with.

A really fun game, there are some annoying spots where its kinda confusing on how to progress because of the hitboxes of items you're supost to interact with being kinda wonky, but overall really depressing and enjoyable expierience

The game is great, so much so that I'm stuck on the very first puzzle :) I love these games! I hope to pass it soon. Great respect to the author for the work done!

there was certainly an attempt at a good Yume Nikki style game here, which i appreciate. just the fact that theres voice acting at all id say is impressive enough (although why exactly the one character sometimes has their voice lines reversed is beyond me). the main issue i have with this though is that its just too blatant with its themes for me to take it seriously at all.
in conclusion though, i can definitely appreciate the effort put into a game like this as im a huge fan of the genre myself, although i cant really reccomend this game namely just because of the lack of nuance and very unclear routing for the final ending
and Dev, if you plan on keeping up with game-making and other projects, i certainly encourage it though! you definitely had an idea here, just not the best execution the first try (first to my knowledge at least), which is hard to really blame
EDIT: updating my review to make a couple changes. the omori theme bit was changed after release which i hadnt noticed till now, and i thought id mention now, the music for this game is actually pretty good. i still have not found the final ending yet but ill probably update again once i do, as there is one i just had trouble finding it. i want to give this game a genuine chance because i can tell there was some effort to this. anyways, after learning some things, i can at least say this is not a bad game, and if you are interested in a short hour or so rpgmaker game, id say this is something to consider. its not bad really
