I decided to try out Trainz Plus gold subscription for 1 month, I purchased here on Steam first before deciding to purchase it again for 1 month via the Trainz Store retail edition, to compare which is better
The only negative side of having Trainz Plus here on Steam
1) Does not sync to your My Trainz account, despite being logged into your My Trainz account in Trainz Plus. One would think that if you visit My Trainz and viewed your subscriptions "My Memberships" it would be available stating "You have Trainz Plus Gold via Steam" but no! This will only show if you purchased Trainz Plus retail version.
2) No discounts via Trainz Store or on Steam, Only Trainz Plus retail version allows discounts via the Trainz Store
3) TANE, TRS19 and TRS22 is not available to download free as included with Trainz Plus retail version
4) No monthly free first class ticket as included with Trainz Plus retail version
5) No preview pass DLC to download as available with Trainz Plus retail
Overall, I'm not going to complain! It would be great if N3V Games did fix the subscription for Trainz Plus purchased via Steam
As for everything else such as all the Trainz Plus features Multiplayer Surveyor (MPS), HD Terrain and more it is all included as stated via the Trainz website
I had fun with both Steam and retail versions of Trainz Plus Gold, it is entirely up to you wish option you want
