I never see a main character that make me hate her from the moment she started to open her mouth. I don't really like the gameplay tbh even though i enjoyed Into the breach.

Incredible game. Captures the feeling of Persona without being a bland carbon copy, clearly doing its own thing. Also nice to play characters who are NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL.

I've always been a big fan of tactical turn based games, the JRPG and Persona aspects in this game made it a super fun game to get into. The pure amount of dialogue and tiny details scattered everywhere really help make the game feel super immersive. The art style and music were a perfect combination with the gameplay. Overall, I have zero regrets playing this game.

Amazing art style and music, and it just drips vibes. I can see why some folks were not pleasantly surprised by the combat itself - it's not what you think it's going to be, but after a bit of adjustment, I became a fan.

Highly polished, challenging and interesting battle system, but friendly with the planning phase and rewinds. Likeable characters, immaculate vibes, primo music, exquisite bad jokes. Hell of a game to sit back and vibe to for an hour or so at a time.

I want to like this game, but honestly it just isn't fun. The story is not engaging, but I can easily overlook that if the core gameplay is interesting, but it isn't. I have seen people compare this to Into the Breach, and I understand why. But Into the Breach is SUCH a better game. The combat here is overly gimmicky, with no real room for creativity. It feels more like a puzzle than a tactical battle. That can work, as it did in Into the Breach, but here it all just feels tedious. I never enjoyed any of the combat, and with how much of it there is that is an obvious problem. It also doesn't help that each battle map is just a rectangle, and that massive numbers of enemies will routinely spawn. There are a small number of methods to winning each battle, and you just need to figure those out. Sound fun? For you it might be, but it was not for me.

The game starts strong but then doesn't really go anywhere. The combat is initially interesting, but there's too much of it, and development of new skills and abilities is very slow, turning it into a slog. Navigating the island feels like chores on a checklist; if the dialogue landed, that might be okay, but overall the plot plays it safe and the humor wasn't for me. As a fan of Persona (and Into The Breach), I wanted to like this game, but it's a No for me.

Despite not recommending Demonschool, I should start off by saying that it's not a bad game. It's fine. I obviously enjoyed it enough to play 80 hours of it, but to be totally honest, a lot of those last 40 hours I played were more out of the compulsion I have to see things through than anything else. This is a game that would have been a lot better if it was two-thirds as long as it is. The combat system is easily the best part of the game, but by the end of it you will have gone through around 150 battles that never really evolve much further than what you'll find yourself doing in the first five hours. There's no experience system in the game, so any improvements to your characters are done through ability unlocks that can be swapped between teammates as needed, which ends up making everyone feel kind of generic. The same is true for the minigames that you play to increase your bonds with your teammates-- there's fourteen other people in your running crew by the end of the game, and you'll be playing the same 4 incredibly simple minigames to increase this game's equivalent of the Persona's game S-Links many, MANY times to get to the end of their individual stories and special skills. They're not particularly difficult, but they're not particularly fun, either. I had this down as a game I would recommend when I started writing this, but as I'm wrapping things up I'm realizing that most of the things I'm bringing up are negative. Again, the game is fine-- I don't regret the time I spent playing it (any more than I do other games, at least), but it really suffers from the devs stretching the core components of the game further than they should have. Less is more, guys!
