I dont normally write reviews however, i felt the need to write a review for this game. I so badly wanted to like this game. The screenshots looked great and then i actually played it myself. The graphics are choppy, not smooth flowing at all. There were trees and grass in the buildings. I understand the game is new and just released a couple days ago however there are a lot of bugs. From getting stuck on random objects and having to reload, to getting stuck in a tree in the forest, to hiding behind objects and not being able to move. The sound quality is not that great. It sounded like dinosaurs coming through my computer. The NPC's lack any emotion and at times during the conversations with them it wouldnt let me go forward. Also if i happened to die, the load button would not work. The monsters, ghosts or anything scary slide across the map and show no animation. The scary effects need work such as the vase breaking in the ship. The weapon and attack style need some work. I feel like im playing a playstation 1 game with how combat is. The save function is a bit odd. The lanterns are not well lit and it took me a while to figure out even how to save the game. The sharks lagged horribly and then they were at my boat. i played the game for nearly 3 hours and stopped because I had to keep reloading due to getting stuck in objects. It honestly took the fun out of the game. Even on sale i would say $12 is still too much for this game. I think it was released too early and still needs a lot of work. Additionally, the game is just too dark. With the choppy graphics and grainy views it was to hard to see even with my brightness maxed. I do not run a entry level computer. Specs are as followed: GPU: 3090TI 32GB RAM CPU: 5900X Storage: 2tb. 1 TB being NVME Im willing to come back to visit this game when there are updates and bug fixes but for now im going to wait to play.

For a 2 person team they put their heart in it and really worked quickly at issues that arrived while I was playing and finishing it. Back in the old DOS days a company, WRF Studios (still out there today), put out a game that would later crank 8 titles under the same series - Last Half of Darkness. I felt a lot of that when I first started to play the game. I also like jank in a game too that can make it campy. +A nun who chases you in the cemetery but if you step outside she'll get stuck in the fence and you can walk in the cemetery unharmed. +A person who follows you and crouches down but when you come close to them for the first time they jump like a bullfrog a quarter mile up into the air. +Pigs and chickens that haven't aged a day on a ghost ship but everyone else are skeletons. There's some others but I hope they don't fix any of those as it just makes the game janky/campy and doesn't hurt the gameplay at all. There's plenty of little touches they added to the first area that are worth just taking your time and checking them out. It's not a long game. I'd say about 4 hours because I ran into some bug issues that were hammered out. As a first game, it's not perfect but it's not a bad play through for a couple of bucks (5.49 on sale),

I'm having alot of fun with this game, for the most part. The developers are really nice and have been patching the game as problems and bugs arise diligently. It was frustrating and rough at first but recent patches have made the game enjoyable with a nice atmosphere and solvable puzzles throughout. The sane / insane mechanic is well used and the environments have a nice creepy atmosphere. Solid 7.5/10 with recent patches.

I actually wanted to like this game, but either I'm an idiot (entirely possible) or the game needs work. I couldn't figure out how to save after 2 hours of gameplay, so every time you die, you go back to the beginning. It seems like it's low budget, but definitely has some promise. The game holds your hand in the beginning, so I was expecting to be told how to save the game, nope! After 2 hours, I didn't even make it to the ship. For the discounted $12, I'm pretty disappointed. To the devs: If I'm a complete idiot and didn't find the save function, let me know. Gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfQNTJvsy8o
