It's no Pizza Tower, but it's close, and for that, I luv it E>
BUT I do hate all the boss battles, there are as many bosses as there are levels. In a game that is meant to be fast paced, the momentum comes to a screeching halt after each level, where you're stuck in this lil box, memorizing the choreography of some lame boss. It doesn't belong here. They're easy, but they're just not fun

This game is really good, all the levels have unique gimmicks, puzzles and setpieces, tons of boss fights with multiple phases and really good music for most of the levels. Also the way the devs pushed game maker to it's limits with the visuals and animation is very impressive, especially during the 2.5/3D segments during one of the boss fights.
I just wish there was more flexibility with the gameplay and movement, but still, this is more of an action platformer driven by bombastic boss fights and some times very strict gimmick setpieces, if you like that, pick it up, it's definitely one of the most impressive indie platformers to date.
Highly recommend 8.5/10

Making a mad destructive dash to a stage's exit once Happy Hour hits is one of the most relatable things I have ever seen in gaming. I myself do this every day at 5PM on work days.

Fans of Crash Bandicoot and fans of Wario land 4 will LOVE this game. on top of the the fact you're basically playing as a boss the entire game, the ACTUAL bossfights seem pretty even, seeing as you're basically destroying everything in your goal to give the devil a hammer to the face. plus, it's SO DAMN CHAOTIC THAT IT'S FUN!

Really good game. My only issue is with the treasures/objects you need to collect on the maps, some are hidden so badly you need a guide or else you would of never find it, it become more of a chore than anything.

I feel like if I was somebody who was dead serious about getting every collectible in a game, that would take years off of my life and completely tank my opinion on the whole Antonblast experience
Thankfully just beating the game's good enough for me and that was a mostly enjoyable experience - liked more than I didn't, only really disliked one boss, wasn't fond of a few levels but would say it's worth checking out if you're into challenging platformers

The bastard child of Warioland, Crash Bandicoot and Ren and Stimpy. Anton Blast is an absolute banger of a platformer brimming with charm and chaotic energy.
Game is relatively short, but that's a positive as far as I'm concerned. Levels have solid length and each is always introducing something new to help them stand out. Boss battles are a wonderful balance of challenge and spectacle.
Movement is fast paced and rewards solid timing. Level design does a good job of allowing you to utterly tear through levels.
Now onto my minor criticisms.
Full disclosure I did not 100% the game, I started, but stopped as it became to tedious. For me personally, 100%-ing this game is a pain in the ass. A problem I often have with collectibles in fast paced platformers is that seeking them out often requires you to slow down, which feels counter intuitive to how the game is played. Good news is you don't need 100% to see the ending.
Each level has 3 main collectables, a secret collectable, time trial mode and combo chain mode. On top of that you have to purchase everything from the shop thus you'll need to be collecting currency constantly to buy out all the extra spray paints and tapes.
The extra two modes are where most of the pain comes from and where this game will get extra hours out of your playtime as it essentially requires you to play levels multiple times. Levels aren't short either so it makes failing the trail modes hurt extra hard.
I ran into a few hitches while playing in the later levels (I played exclusively on steam deck) and sometimes Anton will phase through things he's attacking (especially noticable during the final boss). However these moments were rare and the game ran perfectly otherwise.
9/10. If you love platformers you owe it to yourself to play this game. It's one of the best out there.

Pretty alright game, found this through GrayFruit. If i had to explain it, i'd say it's like pizza tower but you're red. Chaotic running, smashing, and of course Anton Blasting. It got a little hard and tedious at times but overall it was a good play, recommend it if you're into 2d fast paced platformers.

Antonblast was a game that I was looking forward when I saw its announcement, and after beating the campaign I can't recommend this game enough. Its fast pace platforming action at its finest, with a damn good soundtrack . The game is inspired by Wario Land 4 which was released way back in 2001, and was also inspiration for another game called Pizza tower and many more. But what separates Antonblast from the competition is its unique art style, awesome cast of characters, funny as hell dialog, and its bad ass boss fights. Plus once your done with story there are multiple game modes to keep you busy, and there are plenty of references to other games and more. My only issue was that the controls were a bit hard to get used to, but after a few levels I got the hang of it. Without a doubt the game is a BLAST of a time.

Very mixed feelings with this game.
I feel like your enjoyment of Antonblast is solely based on what kind of experience you want from it. When you see a game that fashions itself after "Wario Land 4", what do you envision? Do you think a very fast-paced platformer with tight controls, great art direction, level design, and a "run back to the exit" mechanic attached to it? Then this is the game for you! No questions asked. Watch any speedrun of this game, and you'll see the sheer amount of crazy stuff you can do in Antonblast. Now, if the first thing that came to mind was a collectathon platformer a-lá "Donkey Kong Country" or "Yoshi's Island", and that's what you want to play, then I'm sorry to say, this game absolutely stumbles all over the place in that regard.
A common thought that came to mind whenever I was playing Antonblast was "we've learned this lesson before". A LOT of the game's collectibles are behind platforming challenges where the player has one singular chance to get the collectible, otherwise they have to retry from the last checkpoint, checkpoints which aren't nearly as well positioned as you'd hope for a game with this kind of approach to secret design. On top of that, instead of taking notes from its Indie Platformer contemporaries and making every collectible count the moment you collect it, Antonblast instead, decided that unless you finish the level (which are often on the longer side) after collecting the secret, it does not count. The resulting experience for players that aim to experience Antonblast as a game where you explore stages and find secrets to collect shinies is full of backtracking, resetting and overall repetitiveness.
So often, while I was playing this game in call with friends, the words "Wow, this game is so much more fun when you're not looking for stuff" showed up. And honestly? That's how I recommend you play Antonblast. All you get from collecting stuff is non-gameplay-affecting stuff, so if you're not going for the percentage completion, why bother, really?
Antonblast is AMAZING when you're just "blasting" through stages and basking in the game's amazing controls, level design and art direction. So do give it a try. Just don't expect "Wario Land" out of this "Wario Land" inspired game.
