A nice little game, which is still getting updates. It deserves more attention.

Pretty much unplayable due to the state of the translation for now. Looks like a really fun game, can't wait till translation has advanced and I know what I'm doing. Will update this review at a later time when more is translated and I actually know how the game works. ____________________________UPDATE_____________________________ The translation has now been updated and is more than enough to play the game. The game itself is a lot like RAFT but, in a "Don't starve" type of way. Resources float around the water for you to harvest and you build a small little community on top of your raft, collecting survivors and expanding your boat. Another way to get resources is to allow your community members to build a gankplank so they can go onto the few small islands to harvest it's resources. The game is VERY FUN and a definite recommendation. At the moment there is a few glaring issues however which I'm going into more in the following review. The gankplank's also where my first issue comes in, the gankplank is finnicky as heck. you double-click it > you click open > you have to SELECT who will be allowed on the island. Allowing someone to go on the Island means, they stop taking care of themselves, they won't go back to your ship to get food or water, or sleep on their bed for that matter. They will keep harvesting or walking until they die, or you allow them to get onto the boat again through the same steps as you did to get off your boat and onto the island. To fix this; the people that are allowed off the boat, should always be allowed back on it to satisfy their needs, after they are satiated they can then move back off the boat as long as you don't unselect them (you now have to manage it way too closely). There's also relics to be found, like the fountain of youth. This brings me to issue number two; As far as I've seen so far, there is no way to harvest it? I've tried sending my sailor there with the "go" command, I've tried harvest, attacking, cleaning but, nothing. Hostiles; * mermen/mermaids: Wandering around small islands with their caves. * blue ball that I've forgotten the name of: Wandering arounds mall islands if you've been there for too long. * wands that poke out of the water and shoot you from afar. * Ninjas. * Rope pirates. * Some small fish I've also forgotten the name of. All of these individually are fine but, so far I've had multiple games where I've barely started and I'm already getting raided by a party of rope pirates and not even 2 seconds later a party of ninjas. Completely killing my crew (which at that point isn't more than 3 people and no defenses). So it would probably benefit from some kind of event timer to prevent that. The final thing that's been bothering me is a bug. Where after harvesting or attacking or whatever and you switch back to your normal mouse and you try selecting anything, for instance a bed to assign or any other on-ship items, nothing will happen. This is fixed by going out of the game to the main menu and then reloading the game, but it's a pretty frequent thing. to finish it off I have a question. So my dudes are in the middle of one giant ocean... WHY ARE THEY POOPIN ON THE SHIP AND NOT THE WATER? Thank you for this fun game.

As of right now, giving it a thumbs up as the developer is trying to make a fun little water-based survival game. I'd argue it's Rimworld meets The Raft, but very much in early access. There's a lot of good in here, and each update makes it more fun. For us English speakers, the game is playable at this point, but some of the translations are really rough, and a number of items and perks aren't translated yet. The important part is, the dev is trying, and I've already had six bucks worth of fun.

Don't Starve players really get hooked on this type of game, haha. There's quite a bit of room for exploration. I've played for over 4 hours but feel like I've only scratched the surface of what the game has to offer. I love the sense of random adventure and gradually getting stronger. Surprisingly, the dev team is just one person. It's like finding a hidden gem. Looking forward to future updates!

Fun and addictive. Don't rush to settle on an island at the start, bc you might get too comfortable and it can hinder your progress when you face tougher monsters later. Better to roam around first, and you'll quickly come across various islands with rare resources.

Ocean Punk is a nice little raft survival game. It's not genre changing but it is competent and pretty fun. The Good: - Will run on most machines. - I haven't come across any bugs. - Familiar mechanics, if you've played survival games. - The survival mechanics work and I haven't come across anything flawed or unbalanced. - Nice pixel art with vibrant colors. - The price. You really can't beat $6 USD for a pretty relaxing survival sim. - For a survival sim, it's pretty laid back. The Not So Good: - The English translation is about 60-70% done. It's playable but there are things where you just won't have any idea what they are or do if you only speak English. The game plays well, you really can't beat the price, and I think it's pretty fun at the moment. Updates are fairly regular and I feel this game is worth supporting in early access for six bucks. If the English translation isn't complete by full release, I'll definitely change my review to negative. But for now I'm happy with my purchase.

Argh! This game is so frustrating to play, but is so close to being good. The UI is just... bad. A lot of the game isn't translated to English yet, and what is translated isn't translated well. Lots of things are missing descriptions so you don't know what the heck to do. Crew member down? I have no clue how to revive them. There's a resurrection pole that says it'll resurrect a restless spirit, whatever that means, but clicking on it does nothing for example. So I've had a crew member just laying there on my boat for 3 game days now. It took me nearly an hour of playing to figure out how to detach the camera and move it around so it wasn't centered on the boat. So much of the game is annoying like that. Just so much frustration. Avoid this game until there are more patches.

Very cute game with well thought out mechanics. I'm having fun so far but there being a few things not translated yet can make it a tad difficult. I also found that after leaving the tutorial a lot of things do end up appearing translated in my actual save just not everything. It definitely gets easier figuring out where things are after a few minutes so please don't let translations turn you off from it. I will update if anything else immediately sticks out.

Not sure on the rest of the game but the tutorial is unplayable if you speak English. If you counting on translation for this game it needs more time even after the update
