Ok first: FLASHING LIGHTS WARNING, HEAVY PSYCHOLOGICAL STUFF, and BLOOD. But over all, the story is great and the art is fantastic. You might find yourself confuse a lot and that's ok because that is what the character you're controlling is experiencing. If you like mysteries thrillers then I recommend this game. Actually would be fun to see it as a film too :)

A very good indie psychological horror game, the aesthetics are super cool and the writing is excellent, definitely worth your time.

Interesting concept with a good story and aesthetic. Wasn't expecting to enjoy it as its not the usual type of game I play, but it had me hooked enough to beat in a single session.

Engrossing and distressing, the perfect match! Trauma, memory and identity are made visceral through a well-contained sci-fi premise and an old moldy house (the perfect setting). Gameplay is a simple adventure type deal, you move around the house, and memories, to find and see new stuff, the only challenge is to figure out where to go. You eventually learn what's where and it's pretty smooth sailing from one storypoint to the next. The main thing is the sci-fi horror story, though, and it's tied to experiences with transgender identities. It has some bluntness to the way it's delivered, but I found myself drawn in and empathising with the characters.

Such a beautiful game. Had to play it a second time due to not going back to the first altar and using a memory card necessary for an achievement, but it doesn't take long to replay once you know what to do. The characters are such an interesting mix of relatable, mysterious, and at times downright creepy in ways you wouldn't immediately think could happen. Reading the CPU logs, which are really easy to find as you interact with the house around you, answers so many questions in the story, but they're paced in such a way that it feels satisfying to find and read.

A straight forward point and click adventure played with just the keyboard. Has cyberpunk tone, but isn't explicitly that. More of a haunted house adventure, where you do almost Inception style memory diving to try and figure out your past. Mostly dialogue focused and what puzzles it has are not difficult. This is more based around the narrative and experience. Story is a bad hard to follow, even if you're paying attention, but that's also by design and it's nonetheless quite compelling.

I downloaded this game on a whim, and I'm glad I did. It's about 4.5 hours long, story driven, and different from a lot of things out there. Oddly enough, it was eerily reminiscent of some of the 80's-90's era stuff that I grew up with, but I can't quite pin it on one particular game. Psychroma definitely carries an essence of nostalgia with it between the wonderful pixel art, and the incredible music. Don't be fooled by it's pretty palette, though—it's disturbing undertones and grotesque imagery can easily surprise you. I sincerely hope this team puts something else together soon, and I hope it's similar to this! Great game!

The fact that this game focused on telling its story in such a strange way got in the way of its message, which I believe was meant to examine identity and memory and how those things are linked. At the end of the game I was left feeling more confused by why this story was told in this way than gratified that I'd played a good game.
