I had a lot of fun playing this. The thing that stood out the most to me was the enemies. A lot of them did more than just walk towards you and attack. They also synergized well together. Sometimes a scarecrow would pull me in and a couple zombies would get me while I'm down. I like this take on a familiar genre. Would recommend.

A good bit of retro shooter fun. I enjoyed the variety of themed worlds and how each one has its own environmental mini-story. Running around whipping zombies and blasting aliens through the hundred or so bite sized levels is all good fun.

What a delightful game! I have never played doom before, but it plays similarly to how I would imagine doom plays. I like the ability to choose what order to complete the levels in. If I ever got stuck I would be able to come back to it later after making progress in other levels around the castle. There are lots of enemy types, all with their own unique design and attack to them. Some of them move faster, attack from a range, some are disguised, and so much more. The game is not quite bug free yet, but the creator is fast to respond to issues that have occurred. Very impressed for a single person team.

Would I recommend it? Yes, but maybe not to everyone. It's got charm, it's got moxie. It's rough around the edges. At the end of the day, though, it's getting my thumbs up. In depth opinion: RIGHT HERE https://youtu.be/7e38ZcBDJ9E

Dev fixed some keybind issues I was having within a few hours, you can tell a lot of love went into the game. I've only played a little but its very creative and already has lots of little surprises. I look forward to finishing the game!

Good selection of weapons, 4 hours to beat, difficult at the end. Most bosses are easy. Rocket launcher is only weapon you usually need.

Castillo: Shattered Mirrors is an awesome mix of a Retro FPS, voxel based graphics, and a level progression reminiscent of Super Mario 64. You have a small hub world where you enter various portals around the the hub, looking to collect shards needed for progression. And progression works great, I love the system they have and feel more games should include it. Gameplay wise the game works well. I feel this is a good point to mention I had 2 very different experiences while playing this game. First day I streamed it we encountered numerous bugs, lots of audio issues, strange bullet trajectory problems, and multiple hitbox issues with enemies. Turns out the Dev was watching the stream, and overnight, fixed almost every issue we encountered. That to me, is absolutely amazing and is so rare to see in game releases. Major kudos for that. Second day was a much more enjoyable experience, and the game, while simple, was just plain fun. Not to mention it has one of the best soundtracks I've heard recently, from metal to synthwave, everything is catchy and enjoyable. The graphics might not be for everyone, but I found them a nice change of pace and worked well for the aesthetic the Dev was going for. The one issue I had with this game, was its cost vs length. The game took just under 4 hours to beat (despite being told I missed a couple secret levels, but I can't imagine they add too much to overall game time) So $10 seems like a heavy ask when a lot of similar Retro shooters are priced $2-$5 for more content. However, I did receive a message from the Dev letting me know all his plans for the game in terms of free DLC, and I'm not sure if they want to disclose all of it, but there is a lot, which would more than double the game time. I feel once all that is included, it will absolutely be worth the cost. The game also includes a level editor which can add endless replayability if the community is strong. Also includes a separate demo mode called Flashback. and I LOVED this mode, everything is much faster paced and played more akin to Doom, despite the experience only lasting about 10min. I will say, the entire campaign IS planned to be able to be played with this mode, which is awesome and something to look forward to. Overall, I can't help but feel like this should have been an Early Access release for half the price, and maybe increase it once all the planned content has been released. That being said, I still have no issue recommending it. Its still fun, its unique, and has some replayability in the campaign with the "choose your next weapon" system that locks you out of the weapon you didn't choose. But absolutely what impressed me the most was how fast the bugs I encountered were fixed, and gives me complete faith that this will turn into a MUCH bigger and better game in the coming months/years.

Collect the [strike] stars [/strike] shards, shoot bosses and kill Dracula. The game is a bit like Doom with Catacomb Abyss visuals and a "collect a bunch of things" to unlock more levels in a Mario 64 fashion. The multiple weapons and choosing only one is cool enough, and all of them seemed viable even against Dracula. The voice acting is amusing, the protagonist sounds like someone doing a Serous Sam impression with a pillow over their face, overall sound design is muffled sounding (which I'm not sure is intentional). It's one of those things where I wish there was an "okay" option between recommend or not, it's a fairly short play but the gameplay is overall fine. As an aside I had mentioned a lack of a music volume option in the discussions, as it was way too loud in comparison to the rest of the audio, and the Dev patched it in shortly afterwards.
