Excellent throwback to the days of the SNES and the MegaDrive. The game is massively fun with bright, colourful levels and loads of secrets to find and depths to the gameplay. Highly recommended.

Fun platformer, fairly challenging but overall fair. Lots of secrets and nice ideas, especially late in the game

Fun classic 2D platformer made by Lillymo Games. This was my first Lillymo game and what better way to start then with a remake of their first ever game. Pros: - Tight snappy controls - Nice looking pixel graphics - Tons and Tons of secrets in every level Cons: - Not much diversity in the levels (Very samey looking and no world themes besides general baking asthetic) - Massive difficulty spike after Level 40 (Level 41-50 were brutal) - Some QoL issues (Can't skip cutscenes, cheap kills in certain levels) Overall I enjoyed the game, but wish there was more thought in the world and level design. Worth a pickup especially when on sale.

Makes me think I'm back in 1990 playing Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World.

There is a lot to like with this game, espeically if you like old school 2D platformers. The update to the graphics is really cool and the core mechanics of running and jumping are good and pixel perfect. The majority of the levels are fun and a shout out to the really fun minecart levels which vary things up nicely. I do have some issues though. I understand it's a old school platformer which are known to be difficult but sometimes I think it is unfair, there were a few instances where there were jumps I wasn't sure how to do without taking damage. For example, in one of the later levels there was a jump over a spike with spikes overhead too and I had no idea how you were supposed to do the jump without taking damage on the ceiling of spikes, it was very frustrating. I even checked the controls again to make sure I wasn't missing some dash ability. Another issue is when your character is fully powered up, if you initiate a sprint you also throw a whisk at the same time which sometimes results in you throwing a whisk which kills an enemy you have to jump on to reach the next platform, therefore making the jump impossible because the enemy has been killed. Finally I found it frustrating how I always had to listen to the boss speak every time before a boss battle when I reattempted it, first time fine but it was annoying how I had to watch it every single time, that's just a small quality of life issue though. Despite those minor complaints though I really enjoyed this and it's another banger from Lillymo, runs great on Steamdeck too.

A wonderful ode to 2D platformers of the 16-bit era. Definitely inspired by Mario World with the right amount of flavor from other classics like Donkey Kong Country. Charming graphics, characters and baddies, with a storybook style plot. The right amount of challenge when playing through the levels, but you can dig deeper with collectables and secrets. Definitely worth your time and money.

It's always tough to take a chance on an "unknown" game. If you are a platformer junkie like I am, take that plunge. This is a good one.
