Undaunted is such a fantastic system, having it in digital format means that it'll get even more table time! Yes the controls are a little clunky but tbh I don't notice that when I'm in the middle of a game. The only problem is that now I'm wondering when we'll get Stalingrad :)

The Undaunted system easily ranks on the top few of the best deckbuilding boardgames yet released. Every turn presents you with interesting decisions that are hard if not impossible to just math out, while still allowing ample room for exploration of strategy and tactics within the system. By this I mean that there's a lot of room for skilled play and that for each scenario some strategies work better than others, but it's not linear in the sense that due to the intricacies of the system and randomness of dice rolls and deck shuffles, you'll still have to take some decisions with your gut feeling. The digital implementation so far is having quite a good start. The visuals are rough around the edges, sure (you get what you can clearly see in the screensokts and video) but the main appeal is always the gameplay, anyway, and the 2D mode is quite decent and I'm sure will become more polished in future patches. I have played all scenarios as each side at least once (30+) against the base AI and had few significant issues - the only big rules implementation issue I've seen was quickly fixed in less than 24h, and apart from that I've had maybe 2 bigger issues that forced me to re-start a scenario, mostly with the 2 extra scenarios. The majority of games went without any issues, and the majority of problems (like the AI not processing its turn) were easily fixed by closing and re-opening the scenario. Didn't experience any crashes so far. Overall a great first step in the early access process, looking forward to further fixes and content!

- horrible UI and very clunky controls. Really I can't think of anything that could have been done worse. You practically can't read the board state without zooming in on each individual counter (once you have disabled the extremely ugly 3d models) - fatal rules mistakes (players should only draw hands at the start of the turn; thus if you have the initiative and go first, cards cannot be shot out of your hand) - horrible presentation (the original game's artwork in a 2D environment would have looked so much better, it's beyond me how one could butcher the game's nice aesthetics that mutch...) - AI is no challenge DONT BUY. Yet another half-hearted board game adaption. It's really a shame.

Faithful adaptation of the physical game, though the aesthetic choices of the 3D mode is questionable. The price alone matches the expansion Reinforcements which has a solo variant. I hope that North Africa is rendered in a non-cartoonish way. Either case, it is Undaunted.

This game just looks...ugly. the cards aren't that bad but the game board is really hard to read and has almost no aesthetics. I hope that future updates has changed this but for now the game is really unpleasant to look at

Unfortunately I cannot recommend at this point. I really want this game to succeed but the visuals alone are enough for me to hold off. In my opinion some very simple things can be done to greatly improve the presentation. 1. Texel density. Im sure the developers know what this is, if not please look it up and make some changes. The resolution of textures is so mismatched. 2. Ditch the 3d model mode, focus on the top down 2d view and see point 1. 3. UI/UX I'm rooting for this game, really hope to see some changes!

I'm so disappointed with this game. A friend and I bought this as an alternative to playing the game on Tabletop Simulator, but there are several issues with it. To caveat - the tabletop physical game of Undaunted: Normandy is brilliant, and this game *technically* translates it into a playable single player and multiplayer (with caveats - see below) experience. So if that's all you want (I thought it was all I wanted) then I guess you should buy it, but even at that level it's hard to recommend over a copy of Tabletop Simulator and a workshop mod. - The game looks poor. Textures are very crude and the 3D elements are incredibly basic. Switching to the classic board game view it still somehow looks almost as bad as scanned artwork on TTS. - Considering just how basic the graphics are, the performance is horrendous too. I have an RTX 3080 and the game seems to just have a very choppy frame rate. Options to lock it to 60 or 120fps seem to do nothing - The ONLY option for multiplayer is an asynchronous play by cloud style game. This is probably the most baffling development choice in the whole thing. An async mode would be a GREAT addition on top of live multiplayer - but as the only option it's just bizarre. This is replicating a tabletop board game. Some actions that can take mere seconds between two players in reality (i.e. drawing for initiative) require players to log in and log out multiple times. It suggests a real lack of capability on the part of the developers that this is the only option for multiplayer. - The game is riddled with spelling errors - on text that is copy pasted directly from the scenario book of the board game! Did the devs not even get assets from Osprey Games? All in all an incredibly disappointing product. I'm keeping my copy in the hopes it improves but I don't hold out much hope as it's taken a long time to even get to this state. Oh well - back to Tabletop Simulator for us.

I've played just over a hour and gone through about 4 scenarios. The matches go much quicker here than in person. It also clarifies a a rule that I didn't understand from the board game (initiative sequence at the very beginning of the scenario). The game is very engaging and tense! I've lost to being pinned and won through narrow dice rolls, just like the board game. I've only played on Normal so far. It's a very accurate and well designed digital version of the board game. There are things I'd like to point out; the sequence of events are so quick that it's hard for me to determine what actually happened. Also, the dice rolls are either resolved too quickly or are very slow to complete. If one of my soldiers die in combat I'd like to be able to see how many I have left, or I'd like the option to manually discard from my hand/discard pile, or deck. The pacing can be so quick that it's easy to forget what the status is of your platoon. There are symbols that can tell you that but I feel it can be utilized more efficiently. I might have to keep playing to get used to it. I have not played multiplayer yet but I am looking forward to trying it out.

I have the physical version of this game and this is amazing. If you love this game you will love this digital version. We understand that this is in early access but its a fine start cant wait to see how this evolves, there are 3 other Undaunted games... lets get behind this one and see how far we can push it!!!
