Nup, I can't recommend this game.
Some great ideas here but ultimately it falls flat in core game play. I would say the devs need to spend more time on core game play mechanics instead of adding new features and ghosts. This is the problem with the game from my point of view, the extras are great but then the ghost hunting is meh and frustrating, and that's the main part of the game that should be good/fun.
To elaborate further, the concept of the ghost hunting is good (using evidence to find the ghost type then completing objectives to subdue and capture the ghost), awesome, but then HOW you do that is the problem. We've completed missions by simply tossing the evidence collectors on the floor in the first room and waiting. Sure, you can go around and do optional objectives for extra cash, but why bother when you get randomly dragged or killed without warning? Once you discover the ghost type it seems to just free roam the whole house and does whatever it feels like.
I know it's early access,but this has to be one of the buggiest games I've played in a long while. The crashes and random issues are rather annoying. To be fair, the issues have been less frequent over time, but they're still a problem. In the game we played (which prompted me to finally write a review), one of our team started to get dragged, died, and we could hear their character screaming for dear life the entire time. Meanwhile, they're sitting on discord saying 'well, I can't move or do anything'.
I play this and other ghost hunting games (mostly Phasmo) with the same group of people and the general consensus is the same. Are we holding it wrong?
