Such a satisfying game.
An hour of gameplay is pretty standard for a psychological horror game these days, and I’m honestly really happy with this new release from Jeff.
I’ve played his other games, as well as shorter ones from creators like EMIKA_GAMES, which also focus on jumpscares and atmosphere.
I really hope this game gets the recognition it deserves, and that you keep growing with the amazing stuff you’re making.

Steam wouldn’t let me buy the game, tried a bunch of times until the 'bug' finally got fixed.
Once I got to play, wow, glad I didn’t give up! The game is amazing. It’s so different from what I expected. Sure, it has plenty of jump scares that YouTubers love, but it's so much more than that. The game is filled with hidden symbolism, and if you pay close attention, it gives you all the clues about what happened to the kid.
Jeff needs to make more games like this. Just one piece of advice: please don’t give out too many keys to YouTubers.
I don't think their audience will buy the game since they've already spoiled everything. I didn’t watch any full videos of the game, just skipped to the end to see what YouTubers think, haha. But the rest of their audience will watch the whole video and still be entertained.

I'll be honest, this isn't Jeff Winner's best game.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, and I think his work is highly underrated. I still stand by my opinion that Hallowseed deserved at least 200,000 copies, that game was really unjustly overlooked, had a terrible publisher, and was misunderstood by a lot of people.
As for DeathOmen,
The game has great pacing and delivers everything it needs to. It also keeps a lot hidden, and I actually understand why. The game wants you to decide for yourself what happened, though it’s pretty clear about the truth, hidden in symbols, texts, and throughout the progression of the game.
I won’t spoil it, but the game’s ending is genuinely intriguing.
Again, it's a very underrated game, and I believe if the right people play it and understand its concept, it could easily become a cult horror classic.

They barely explain the controls, it's slow and kinda clunky when you're just walking around; but its generally pretty neat as far as ideas go. It also made me have two simultaneous heart attacks and I am now dead in real life with my body in full rigor mortis clutching the keyboard to my chest, my eyes wide, and my mouth hanging open like that first scene in 'The Grudge'. Or wait.. was it 'The Ring'? I don't know, I don't remember because the game killed me from a case of the spooks.
Join me in death or suffer the wrath of not being able to say, "Yeah, I played 'DeathOmen'.. it was alright".

Random scares, jumpscares, micro-scares, super creepy, this is absolutely Jeff Winner's best game so far!
DeathOmen is one of those horror games that really gets under your skin. The scares are well-crafted and not just random jolts to catch you off guard. From the start, you can feel that something’s off, but it doesn’t hit you with everything at once. The game takes its time, letting the tension slowly build up, and that’s what makes it so effective.
The level design is incredible. Every area feels carefully thought out, creating an atmosphere that constantly keeps you on edge. It’s not about loud noises or flashy jumpscares; it’s about setting a mood, making you feel uncomfortable, and never really letting go.
What I really love is how the game doesn’t rush the scares. It doesn’t just throw random moments of terror at you without explanation. Instead, you’re gradually introduced to strange things, and it gives you enough clues that something bad is coming, but it never delivers too soon. The pacing is perfect, and when the big moments do happen, they’re shocking and intense.
Even though the game is on the shorter side, it’s worth every penny. DeathOmen is a game that builds up real suspense and delivers terror when you least expect it. It’s a tight, focused experience that sticks with you long after you’re done.
A solid 10/10.

it took me a hour to complete the game and to be honest im disappointed the game looks good! but the moment you start playing you get a brief explanation on what the character is about and then it becomes pointless there needs to be more story and function to what its about like we get some pills and a hot dog twice thats it? then it becomes a scavenger hunt with no leads. Would not recommend to anyone who wants story and function

The Dev does not like bad reviews, so I want to make sure everyone can see the gameplay, so I decided to add my recording here.

This isn't a game, nor an experience, this is a bad jumpscares slow walking and nonsensical story, I wont ruin for those who do want to play, but this has been by far one of the worst games I have played recently. I felt like all it was was a point and click adventure, you buy $20 hotdogs to satiate yourself.
I requested a refund because the ending just made me completely unsure of what was going on.
Edit: it also appears he has the same people write GREAT reviews for his other games as well, this makes me think that the dev doesn't even believe he made anything good.
The Camera system in the game has no purpose at all its just there to add time making you "earn money", and limits you for a non existent promotion, like the dev was going to do more with the game, but then gave up. food system and pill system are just as pointless...
