Unique god game with a balance of light tower defense, resource management, with card-based rougelite elements. Resource management is light which makes it tolerable, but they are still working on streamlining the interface to make it more efficient. Rougelite implementation is mainly through the random 5 action cards you draw each turn, but the rouge element is limited since you can redraw your hand for a tiny resource cost, so you can basically draw through your hand and find whatever you need quickly. Hand size starts at like 5 cards and grows every few turns where you can select additional cards to add to your deck, which quickly can grow to 40+ cards. Excited to see how this game grows and how new strategies are implemented.
Pretty chill deck building based on resource and space management, but it does require a certain amount of grind and can get repetitive.
This is your game if you want a deck building that doesn't involve (constant) combats, or if you find some city builders too complex: here each card is usually a building and you just need to pay its cost and place it next to the resorces it harvests. Yeah, once in a while one or two enemies will show up and you need a couple of warrior or divine power cards to defend yourself, but for the most part it's a pretty chill game.
The bad news is that there are only 4 different civilizations you can play with, and each has a pretty clear "best strategy", so once you play once or twice with each one it can get repetitive pretty quickly (all games will feel the same). The worst part is that you need to play a good number of very similar games to complete the campaign or unlock the best cards, so it can become a chore.
I would recommend this game if you find it on sale for $ 10 / € 10 or less, the first 10-15 hours of gameplay are pretty fun.
