It's rare when single action games in the style of retro shooters come out straight from childhood, the game will lure you with new mechanics, an interesting game world and a bunch of monsters with bosses that will blow from your numerous weapons and magic.

A hardcore and challenging game where either you kill or get killed. In terms of external style, it resembles shooters of the 90s-2000s. Dynamic and challenging, recommended for shooter fans. The Defaloon is a satisfying first person shooter, a call back to the shooters of yore! What makes Defaloon so great is the simplicity of its core concept: kill or be killed. You enter each arena and you must mow enemies. It's a bit shallow (the game could do with some more polish), but it's entertaining. On top of a unique art style, this game offers a fresh experience with dungeon crawler mechanics and weapon upgrade.

Not a good game, also not an old school fps, especially not a "doom clone" some people here pretend it to be. So basically there are just a handfull of weapons and a health potion in the game as well as the starting weapon which sucks. Then you clear a level, which all seem to be random and basically just a small arena, you kill every enemy and then go into the portal. Then you choose a weapon or healthpotion, and if you already have it, you upgrade it. Levels all look the same and don't are at all like level design is in an old school fps. Oh and there are just 2 different enemy types. Also you can't save the game and if you die, you have to restart from the beginning which doesn't mean much besides loosing all upgrades as their isn't any other progression as levels are just all the same and random. Balancing isn't good either: all weapons and the healthpotion just have a cooldown, which is pretty stupid as you can especially abuse this with the healthpotion: if there is no enemy nearby just use the healthpotion over and over till you are back at 100% health. So there isn't even ammo or health to collect. Also there is no reason to just not always upgrade the fast firing weapon and the "rocket launcher", as well as the potion as the rest is useless. Also there is no boss in the game, even tho the game states so in the store page, at least I haven't seen one but I reached quite far, so ... In fact the game prob doesn't end. Or how about the game lacks pretty much most sound effects. It's too simplified, generic and boring.
