pretty cute mission mode shmup, the siege mode is pretty intriguing too if you want some local coop. I just finished up to the coming soon part. This shmup will be pretty neat when it fully releases.

This is a brilliant little gem of a bullet hell, dangerously underrated, here's why:

Actual stage by stage SAVED progression. No "do it all again for highscore" bullshit.
Stages are tightly crafted with unique content and monster placement. No random mayhem. Stages are short which makes it hard to get stuck and facilitate daily progress.
Bosses are tough, but well put together and exciting to take down. They are isolated from normal stages, so you can focus on try hard without worrying to start the whole stage from scratch. And they come with an optional hardcore version.
Upgrade system is small, optional but welcomed as it gives incentive to perfect each stage to gather more coin. Smart and simple.
Music is neat, story is serviceable.
Can't recommend enough to any bullet hell fan.

It's an interesting bullet hell game that I find to be in the spirit of Galaga, Espgaluda and, uh, Touhou. First of all, i̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶p̶o̶s̶s̶i̶b̶l̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶r̶e̶m̶a̶p̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶t̶r̶o̶l̶s̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶k̶e̶y̶b̶o̶a̶r̶d̶.̶ ̶W̶h̶i̶l̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶d̶e̶f̶a̶u̶l̶t̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶t̶r̶o̶l̶s̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶ ̶m̶a̶p̶p̶e̶d̶ ̶s̶i̶m̶i̶l̶a̶r̶l̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶h̶o̶w̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶p̶l̶a̶y̶ ̶a̶ ̶s̶h̶o̶o̶t̶ ̶'̶e̶m̶ ̶u̶p̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶P̶C̶,̶ ̶I̶ ̶p̶r̶e̶f̶e̶r̶ ̶s̶h̶o̶o̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶w̶i̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶X̶,̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶Z̶. it's possible to remap controls! But I'd like a separate button for dash anyways. Mobile gamers will find the level order structure to be familiar, but it's unique for a PC release. Unlike arcade releases, you can play levels in a given area or, looking at roadmap, sub-area, in a free order, but you need to beat all of them (no, Ferox doesn't count, I've tested) to access the next stage. In most sub-areas there's a shop where you can find options (I didn't find to be a lot useful), shield (the most useful item) and dash (very specific upgrade). You can equip one type of an option and defensive item (shield or dash) at the same time. No, I didn't test characters other than Ella. As is, she's pretty good. Good speed and good shot. Normal and concentrated shot are the same. Normal spell is the most useful against homing enemies and concentrated spell is the most useful against static popcorn, so there's tactics. As for the levels themselves, I found no problem with them. They're goal-based similarly to Bullet Hell Monday except there are two static goals: hit avoidance and time limit, which is strict enough to require a lot of routing. Reaching hit avoidance shouldn't be much of a problem if you play safely, but beware of two particular enemies that spawn a ton of enemies: golden gear birds (?) and homing bats. They spawn a ton of bullets. Best to speedkill them. Also there's that one elite black mage that spawns a ton of bullets as well except he can't be killed quickly. Yuck! Do you best to dodge! Normal black mages are much more easy, though, and I'd like them to be buffed a bit. I think that their bullets are a bit too slow. (While enemies are a bit tanky compared to the rest of shmups, it's fine because of fairly static enemies, so you can take your time to shoot them) I forgot later bosses, but the last Early Access boss has the unique gimmick of turning bullets into lighting upon passing the blue circle. That's really cool! The bosses that I remember are Arcanum and Stigma, specifically their Ferox variants. They're especially violent compared to the rest of the game and feature much more dense patterns compared to their normal versions. You absolutely want to route them and see what interacts with what in Stigma's case. Normal versions can be beaten blindly if you're really skilled, though. And now my most favourite part - bullet hell. It'll be tame in the first area - forest, but it'll get intense when you get to the castle, especially when black mages will begin to appear. There's one particular level in the sky area where a lot of golden gear birds spawn. If you keep all of them alive. so many bullets will spawn that they'll fill the screen! Yippee!!!!!!!!! By the way, really good music outta here. Gotta love these Sunsoft basses. 9.5 bullet hells out of 10. P.S.: I forgot about "Input Remap"

The game didn't catch my interest in the slightest and looking at the other reviews, I'm starting to wonder if I played a different game. The bite-sized stages are boring and none of the characters feels particularly good to play. The entire thing looks and feels like a mobile game. The UI is very flat which is in stark contrast to the in-game graphics which attempt to emulate pixel art. The backgrounds are 3D that try to be 2D and while it works well in some places, other places look right out hideous. Each area comes with 5 stages. Each stage plays exactly the same: a few, usually 1-10, enemies enter the screen and remain either stationary or move left and right and shoot a few, slowly-moving bullets. There is a timer to beat and a stage goal of taking no hits for which you get up to 3 stars. 5 Stars in total are required to move to the next area. The stages are so similar, from backgrounds to enemy patterns, that I often thought I had accidentally selected the same stage again. They're also not very challenging. Bullets are slow and with wide gaps in between. The difficulty is practically zero and doesn't seem to increase at all. On the contrary, it only gets easier as you buy shields and options that increase survivability and damage. You have four characters to choose from and all of them feel pretty meh, mainly because their weapons are weak. The witch has a single stream peashooter and her special ability is a turret that targets the nearest enemy. I found her to be the best character since it's the most traditional one. The single-stream peashooter feels really bad though. The electro guy has two orbiting spheres. Pressing the special button when they overlap fires a powerful electrobeam. The overlap window is small and you constantly have to watch your character. I couldn't get the rhythm down without looking at it and even with looking at it, it's hard to hit consistently. Very cumbersome and distracting. The fire guy has a wide-range shot with low fire rate that felt pretty weak. His special summons an ugly, stationary 3D fire sphere that probably damages enemies that touch it. I don't know since there is no in-game feedback for it. And lastly the katana girl. Tap the button to fire a single stream ahead. Hold the button to charge a devastating strike that moves you forward half a screen and damages everything in your path. The special is a teleport circle that you can put down and return to. So the playstyle is to charge attack and immediately return to your circle to not take damage. The charge up is cool and this is definitely the most interesting character. As for early access, the game's menu has a Discord link so I guess all the developer interaction happens there. On the Steam forums, a guy who is/was presumably part of the development team answered some questions, but there is no response to any of the few feedback threads. Also the last update was in September of 2023, which was the targeted release date according to the store page, and there is no news anywhere. Delays happen but delays plus radio silence is usually a bad sign. So beware, the game might be abandoned.

A fun shmup. I've only player single player so far. I like the pickup-and-play formula of having short challenge stages: it's a lot more accessible than the arcade mode we usually have in this genre.
