A fun game! The ground combat is fluid, and I like the different weapon types. The ability to lock on to enemies makes picking up and chucking stones and bomb plants at enemies really fun as well. Also, got an outfit that makes my roll do explosive damage to anyone near me, which is super effective. In terms of cons... I have only played solo, but some of the missions are frustrating for solo play. Enemies that seem to respawn the moment they're defeated during escort missions, missions where you ride a beast but tow one behind you that needs to be protected (but both block your gun from firing at enemies that attack from the rear), or herding missions where the beast needs to be protected BUT gets stuck on geography (forcing a reset) are all frustrating at times. Sometimes they're a breeze when I try them again though. Seems to boil down to luck. And mostly attacking from the crab is too chaotic- you can move while your ghost buddy attacks, or keep picking waypoints for him to travel to and you fire the cannons, but it seems like mortar fire unseats you constantly either way. Much quicker to load yourself into the cannon and fire yourself on the enemy platform (which is awesome!) and hack away in person. Still, enjoying my time with it. I like the open world style, similar to the Far Cry games, with various locations to conquer. Does feel like a bit like guerilla warfare at times.

Has a nice game play for beginners and easy to follow directions. The story is fun to follow as well.

I have to say I was not sure what to expect. I was just looking for fun coop games to play with my partner. Utterly blown away by how good this is so far. We have only played for a short while but we are loving it. The art style and animation is truly beautiful and it's a lot of fun exploring and upgrading. It kind of feels like an open world ship of fools. Note to developer: keep polishing the game and add expansions to this, I will gladly buy. Also get a physical switch version out and I'll buy that also to go in my permanent game collection (of which I buy very few).

A great example of how absolutely terrible coop UX can ruin a pretty nice idea. Very disappointing and unaccurate, yet quite good loking proof of concept with tons of bugs and critical issues.

Had this on my wishlist for a while but never pulled the trigger.. finally decided to after seeing the sale price 55% off.. also discovered that there is a PvP mode which was a pleasant surprise! Really enjoying the game so far, just needs some more players. The campaign is fun so far and I've been playing with random players. Gameplay seems really good, and love the art style. Also runs really well too. There hasn't been any players to try PvP battle royale with so far, but it seems really neat! Hoping people give it a shot! Absolutely worth the $9 sale price. Loving the game so far!

A great game with so much potential but... it is too way tto buggy. Key missions that simply cannot be completed and that took so many attempts to figure that out. I wnt a refund for those hours of my life and of my son's life too.

Let's go over the main problems I noticed in a short testing period: - False deck verification. It has terrible performance that constantly drops for no reason, constantly going from 60 to less than 30fps. - The game wasn't designed to be played with a joystick. The right analog stick is awful for aiming because it's configured to be extremely sensitive and with enormous acceleration. This makes it impossible because it's too fast. You can only play by constantly using the lock-on feature. - You can't see anything in the inventory. It's extremely tiny.

The reviews for this game were confusing at first, a few say the game is rather short, others say the game has a wide variety of content that just doesn't quite piece together into 1 product. Both arguments are true... mostly. I bought this game yesterday morning alongside a friend and together we sat down and played through the campaign on medium difficulty for about 10-11 hours total, start to finish, 100%, finishing in the early hours of this morning. I do think this amount of playimte is SHORT, even if we got the game for ~$13 AUD (55% off), just because of the lack of replayability. But there was not any time where we were bored, there ARE tons of fun mechanics, items to find, and our favorite part: The CAVES . The caves of this game are filled with puzzles , there is a healthy amount of them, they're quite rewarding, and each centered around their own unique gimmicks. [E.g. Boomerang mastery, dangerous traps, explosive chain reactions, secret levers, breakable walls, etc.] It was a truly fun time despite being a short experience and it is a shame there isn't too much replay-ability. If it were with a different group or if I were to experience the game on a different medium (controller, local play, etc.) only then would I likely play through the campaign again. (Maybe on a higher difficulty though.) + I also understand why it feels like too many games in one: It's a top down shooter with an open world campaign and a battle royale mode, but it also has many puzzler aspects, personally me and my mate thought this was great, but it is unusual. Play between the crawler (you're mobile fortress) and on the islands is also very different, not starkly and that's part of the games partial uniqueness and identity but again, unusual.
Now I do have some of my own negative points:
Neither of us experienced the Battle Royale mode, the only non-campaign mode and the main addition of this game's sole update since release. We've also made no plans to experience it since unfortunately with a small game like this we'd just be versing bots. Unless we had a 16 large friend group and an equal amount of licenses for the game we'd never have a complete lobby. + There were also some bugs, the soft-locks need some attention: The game has a fair unstuck system that doesn't disadvantage play which is good but also necessary, we had to use it MANY times. + Another thing to note is the performance: My friend plays on a system slightly lower power than I and initially for both of us performance was fine, this is not in any way a performance intensive game - until a couple hours into play. WHY after PERFECTLY smooth gameplay does it start to slow down? Random spikes on the autosaves (Which is highly configurable/can be disabled) and later on UI opening/interactions (Can't be disabled - neccessary for play). This was for both of our systems alike and It gets to a point where you're forced to restart your game. It was a good que for me and my friend to take rests in our marathon. TL;DR: Quite fun but short (Regular Difficulty -> 5 hours to complete campaign, 10 hours to 100% campaign.) Play the campaign with a friend, explore islands for the caves and puzzles. Technical: If you try to break the game, you will break the game, otherwise just watch out for soft-locks and restart the application every ~3 hours to avoid memory leaks.

A charming little coop game that never really comes together. I feel it has tons of great ideas that arent fully realised because the game is so short. Add onto that some game-breaking jank and I cant recommend it at full price. This really feels like an early-access game, but doesnt have the banner. Rushed to release, and I dont see a roadmap. Buy it on sale, half off at least, and you'll get your money's worth.
