This game's LoL Arena if you cut all the budget from the developper. No joke :')

pretty solid, very niche genre but it does it the best

It's alright for the first few runs, but gets way too packed with items and heroes after that. The biggest con is probably the "main" gameplay, which just boils down to itemization. In most runs in act 3 you just kinda don't give a shit about the items anymore - you either have the good stuff, or you're going to die. At that point, finding a better fitting item is just minmaxing.

The Last Flame is an evocative narrative-driven adventure that weaves together elements of emotional storytelling, atmospheric exploration, and subtle puzzle-solving into a cohesive and memorable experience. Developed by a small indie team, the game distinguishes itself through its focus on mood and character development rather than traditional action or mechanics-heavy gameplay. It invites players to immerse themselves in a hauntingly beautiful world where themes of loss, hope, and resilience are delicately explored through environmental storytelling and poignant interactions. Set in a visually striking and often melancholic landscape, The Last Flame uses its art style and sound design to evoke a deep sense of atmosphere. The environments are richly detailed, filled with subtle visual cues that hint at the backstory and emotional state of the protagonist. The interplay of light and shadow, particularly the titular flame, plays a crucial role not just as a gameplay mechanic but as a metaphor for perseverance amidst darkness. This artistic approach helps create an intimate and immersive setting that resonates emotionally, making exploration feel meaningful beyond mere navigation. Narratively, The Last Flame excels in its restrained storytelling approach. Rather than relying on extensive dialogue or exposition, it opts for nuanced character moments and symbolic encounters that encourage players to piece together the story organically. The protagonist’s journey is one of quiet introspection, grappling with grief and the search for renewal in a world that feels both mysterious and fragile. This subtlety can be deeply affecting, especially for players who appreciate games that prioritize emotional resonance over overt plot twists or action. Gameplay in The Last Flame is intentionally minimalist, blending light exploration with simple puzzles that are designed to complement the narrative rather than interrupt it. These puzzles often involve manipulating light sources, interacting with environmental objects, or solving spatial challenges that tie directly into the themes of illumination and darkness. The pacing is deliberate, encouraging players to take their time absorbing the atmosphere and reflecting on the story’s emotional beats. While this may not appeal to those seeking fast-paced action or complex mechanics, it suits the game’s contemplative tone perfectly. One of the game’s strengths lies in its soundscape. The ambient soundtrack is composed of delicate melodies and environmental sounds that enhance the sense of solitude and mystery. Audio cues are used effectively to guide the player and underscore emotional moments, making the experience feel holistic and carefully crafted. The sound design, paired with the visuals, creates a sensory immersion that lingers long after gameplay sessions end. While The Last Flame offers a deeply moving experience, it is not without limitations. Its slow pace and minimalist mechanics may feel repetitive or uneventful to some, and the abstract nature of its storytelling can leave players craving more concrete narrative closure. Additionally, the relatively short playtime may leave a desire for further exploration of the world and characters introduced. However, for those who value atmosphere and emotional depth in games, these aspects contribute to a focused and artful experience rather than detract from it. In conclusion, The Last Flame stands out as a poignant indie adventure that uses art, sound, and subtle gameplay to tell a story of hope amidst despair. It is a game best suited for players who appreciate meditative, narrative-rich experiences and are willing to engage with its slow, thoughtful pacing. Though not conventional in its approach, it offers a uniquely immersive journey that explores profound themes through a beautifully crafted, atmospheric world. For those seeking a game that speaks to the heart and soul, The Last Flame offers a quiet yet powerful flame to follow. Rating: 8/10

Fun auto chess game with a lot of different build archetypes that are viable. Fun challenges and achievements, I've got 100% without looking at any guides etc. Recommended for everyone who likes this genre and games where it's slow paced and you have to think.

Great game for those who enjoy the genre. Experimenting with different setups/heroes/items etc is fun. Doesnt have infinite replayability but enough challenges, achievements and other stuff to make it well worth your money/hour spend with it. Great for pick up and play sessions like 20mins or so as well. Played almost exclusively on steam deck which works well, although you may need to check community layouts or tweak it yourself to make the most out of it.

This is just the crack my brain needed, solid automaker autobattler minus all the competitive nonsense and just discovering stuff at your own pace.

Not my usual genre, but I bought this hoping for something I could play on auto-pilot. Turns out not really, there are a lot of decisions, and a lot of reading of skills, items and so on. But the game is really fun, and what tipped the scales for me were the numerous challenge modes, each generally requiring a different approach to the game. My only real beef - not everyone is gonna want to play the game 20-25 hours to unlock all the heroes and content. An "unlock all" option would have been nice.

Fun Roguelite with a lot of different heros, abilities and combinations to allow for many, many different runs. All the fun of min/maxing an RPG party without the annoying micromanaging of every single move. The one nitpick I have is once you have unlocked everything and you're playing endless mode, it doesn't really matter how well you do, at some point you will fight enemies with instant kill abilities that wipe the party. Not truly endless if you're just autokilling my party at random intervals. Devs, please remove that one feature. It's really the only thing keeping me from playing this more.
