Absolutely fantastic. Unsettling and creepy, with an atmosphere that matches the gameplay and story. Speaking of story, this is a perfect example of storytelling being achieved in a way completely unique to the art form of video games. A shining example of the medium. Fascinating, eerie, clever, and scary. Highly recommend.
EDITED TO ADD: I've also just finished playing the secret sequel/part 2 "Mothered: Home" and just wow. Even more of what made the original game fantastic, but even more disorienting and terrifying. Also, somewhat confusing, I suppose I must play the other 2 games in the trilogy now! Do be warned that the game is full of visual glitches and flashing lights

I'll try not to spoil anything but the set of actions you need to complete to trigger the proper progression of the game are so obtuse and random and happen at very specific points of the game that you have to start all over again if you miss them, which you will.
