It's not bad but the challenges get a little repeating.

Unlike Cooking Mama I can actually understand Yum Yum. While the mini games can get repetitive, they actually functions correctly. The recipes looks quite tasty. The music is also really good. I like the premise and the aesthetics compared to that of cooking mama. Just goes to show how boring Cooking Mama has gotten.

A great and challenging cooking game!
The recipes looks amazing, the gameplay is smooth and fun, and that soundtrack... what a banger! If you like cooking games and rhythm games, you need to give a try to Yum Yum Cookstar!

's okay... But I am used to games where you require skills and recipe memorization versus rhythm... Mouse... Dragging... o.O So what I am saying is... It is much easier to cook in real life than in this game. It's not impossible... It offers you different modes too: Relaxed... Casual... Chef and Pro... IF you play Pro? Or try to do Dailies (which are set to "Perfectionist Pro")... Then uhm... Make sure you have 100% accuracy. One wrong move? You are done for. Sometimes it doesn't even register my mouse movements either... So I have trouble playing the more challenging levels. But I can't tell if it's just my movements or the game itself... I guess you can try on a controller... But a cooking game on a controller?! XD I do like the pretty recipes... Even the nastier looking ones... I question as to why you put sweets atop of a pizza in the first place...! When it's clear that you eat that sweet fruit separately AFTER consuming said pizza. (This is a joke. I really don't care who likes it or not. Eat that Hawaiian pizza to your heart's content!) What annoys me... VERY MILDLY... Are the following: -> The instructions are written AND SHOWN on the screen! I CAN READ! I CAN SEE! But the voice... The "Yum Yum" character makes sure to TELL YOU EVERYTHING ON THE SCREEN. You can't start (if new technique) without hearing her speech first. Seriously Yum Yum... Quit that sheet. We aren't that dumb. Or dumb at all for that matter. -> Torching. This technique isn't taught. The first time you try it? You'll fail. Thanks for making me fail the one thing in my Daily you... ANYWAY... YOU GOTTA SWIRL your mouse in a circular motion and move it around! IT WONT TELL YOU THAT! At least that's what worked for me. X_X -> Dough tossing. Although this technique is taught... The "tutorial" is 100% easier than the real thing. You see... You'll pass by just randomly clicking your mouse/spacebar... But the moment you gotta use it in the recipe? You'll get 0. Why? Because the tutorial just passes you... Without you even learning the skill. Sigh. Sure there are a lot of recipes and you can even customize some of your equipment with different colors, but I... I just got tired somewhat. Most of the things I had to do were "drag mouse this way quickly"... So rhythm thingy... And I am okay with it, but how in the hell do I get +4000 Bonus points in spinning and fail the simplest of things? In the simplest of conclusions...! Not bad...! But if you played skill/memory based games before? It wont be the same...! Thanks! :>

A reskinned Cooking Mama game, for better or worse. You know what you're getting into with this game and, behind the generic Generation Alpha-baiting aesthetic, it isn't that bad. Especially when a food critic says your chicken bruscetta "tastes like the tears of a thousand Italian grandmothers." Savage.

Honestly, a switch game that should cost about $10 a most. It's a bad rip-off of cooking-mama
