I LOVE this game! It will definitely make you work your little gray cells, and it helps to keep paper and something to write with handy.
Things I liked:
No other people wandering around for me to interact with! No dialog! No narrative after the initial explanation of where you are and how you got there. Variety! Some puzzles were observation-based, some were riddles, and there were many that really took some time to contemplate and think a bit outside the box to 'get' what the solutions were based on. There is no hand-holding, and there isn't a lot of unnecessary clutter. While I do like red herrings, or to have interactive objects that aren't necessary to solve the puzzles (like looking at a flower and the petals fall off, or touching a cookie and a bite gets taken from it), another game I recently tried was loaded with things that you could pick up and examine, but had no use or connection to the task(s) at hand (for example, scattered papers that just had vaguely blurred scribbles on them), and there was no way to easily place a needed item in a place/on a surface before using it...it just dropped and you hoped it landed where and how you wanted it to. In SOTANO there is a handy inventory to hang on to what you need, so no unnecessary carrying, or getting bogged down with all sorts of things that mean nothing. And there is the added plus of nice graphics and soundtrack!
I did experience a couple of glitches where the game indicated I was clicking on the number or object NEXT TO what I had clicked my cursor on (just reset and repeated it slowly each time until it finally worked correctly), and one time where I had to save and quit, then come back to my saved game for another puzzle to finally work. But, other than those 2 minor issues, everything worked perfectly and I had a hard time pulling myself away to deal with minor things like making dinner or getting some sleep.
I am hoping that this developer (who was very responsive when I posted about the one glitch I couldn't get past) will add more chapters to this game and/or create a sequel. And, please, create more games like this one! :)

A cute game with some basic riddles & puzzles. It could use some more polishing but considering it's a one man project and priced affordably I still recommend it!

I didn't encounter any of the bugs other reviews have mentioned. I guess they've already been fixed.
SOTANO has some good and diverse puzzles of varying difficulties. They won't amaze you with their innovation or beauty, but you'll definitely need to engage your brain to get through them all. This isn't a game to get you hooked on puzzle games, but it will help fuel your addiction.
Decent puzzles at an appropriate price. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it to other puzzle addicts.

I've been playing M9 Gmaes for some time now... and it's great to see them getting better and better. This is the first one I played that's in real-time 3D instead of static images. So it's great to see the developer growing and making better games. The plot in the game is not really important... but the puzzles are. It has fun puzzles that are not too difficult but also not too easy. Visuals are nice and the game has a good atmosphear. It might use some extra polish here and there...and some people might find it too short, but overall it's a fun experience. I look forward to the next game...

a nice short escape room puzzle game. it is very straight forward and simple. it is kinda rough around the edges with some graphical errors but it doesn't effect the game play at all.
overall i recommend it on sale as you can beat it in under one hour.

I finished this game in about an hour. Puzzles were good with only one being a bit obscure. None of the puzzles are twitchy or rely on luck, which I appreciate. The game is short but solid.

There are things to like in this game, but it has a few major drawbacks that keep me from recommending it. Most people will beat this in around an hour and a half. Far less time if you are versed in these types of games. And Most of that time is going to be spent on 2 or 3 really badly designed puzzles. There aren't many puzzles or rooms in this game, but most of them are fun. I didn't have any of the bug issues that other people did, but I was able to bypass half the puzzles in a room with some simple guess work. The biggest issue with the game is that some of the puzzles are really bad. One of them ignores all the rules already established in the game. Had to use a guide because I thought the game was broken. Technically, it was. Two of the puzzles are riddles, and nothing is provided in the game to cue you to what the answers would be. This is faulty game design. Most of the puzzles thankfully can be solved with clues in the game world. The problem is that with such a small amount of puzzles, many of them have repetition. Its not a bad game at all, but it needs some polish, and some length.
The Good:
Ambiance is nice
3D exploration is easy and smooth
Some of the Puzzles are fun
The Bad:
Too Short for the price
Several Puzzles/Riddles lack in game context/clues.
Many puzzles are too easy, or boring
Game structure isn't cohesive, all puzzles feels jumbled together.

A short review to give 👍 to M9 Games.
SOTANO was my first from M9 Games and it was an enjoyable over all but I did wish it were longer. The visuals were nice and the puzzles were enjoyable. I did not experience any problems other reviews mentioned.Everything I interacted with worked as intended and progressed me onward.
The only downside for me is not having achievements and trading cards. I think they make for fun profile showcase flair. Granted it is still in 'Profile Features Limited' status so maybe when the metric is reached M9 Games will add some 🤞.
