Wow! I'm more amazed for the fact they didn't call the game: "Steel Cog Hard" But this game will add a value to my account when Konami cap the dev's A$$

It goes pretty much without saying that these games are not "good", in the traditional sense. Mechanically they're a mess, being incredibly easy just because the enemy AI barely works on a fundamental level, and the screenshots pretty much speak for themselves about the asset store nature of the graphics. Using the crate, the game's stand-in for the cardboard box, essentially makes you invisible to the point that even if you park it directly in a guard's path they'll either phase through it or push you along with them. Hundred Fires proudly cruises just above the line of being fun enough to play and cheap enough to justify trying it, and the rest of the weight is carried by its absolutely insane storyline. It's tongue-in-cheek, it's just as heavily referential as the real thing, and it's borderline nonsensical; the plot of this first episode gets wild as it is, but episode 2 is basically a Kojima fan having a complete mental breakdown while being localized by a translator who doesn't seem to fully understand what they're translating to begin with. It's hilarious and it's magical, and I genuinely hope we get an episode 3 someday, and can't wait to see it if we do.

Lol, it looks like metal gear and plays like metal gear but the voice acting is poorly recorded and the story seems more like it aims to make fun of metal gear. At the end of this episode I was just wondering how high the creator of this was when he made this. Good for a laugh, get it on steep discount and you'll get a good 1 hour out of it at least. There are other game modes I just didn't bother yet, maybe later.

If you take MGS and Deadly Premonition, and roll into into a well polished indie fever dream, this is what you get. Surreal and entertaining, i had more fun with this than mgs 5...and don't touch my balls
For fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise or the recent Unmetal, HUNDRED FIRES may interest them.
Is it as refined as Metal Gear? Absolutely not. Did it make me a laugh a few times and enjoy myself? Yes. HUNDRED FIRES wears its tongue-in-cheek Metal Gear inspiration on its sleeve during its brief 2-hour runtime, and by the end I only found myself wishing the game were longer. The combat is serviceable enough, and the equipment you acquire is similar to what you may find in MGS. A cardboad box to hide in, a machine gun, an RPG, etc... The gameplay itself also contains the same you may find in MGS i.e. guards entering an alert state, a first person aiming mode, crawling under things, and more. While these all work, the game also has some goofy / janky moments such as running into an NPC and having them do the same scripted animation over and over, or camera angles that seem to sporadically wig out if you approach too close to certain walls. By no means does this game take long to complete, and feels more like a concept for further iterations, so I hope they make further episodes. That being said, the game does include several cutscenes that play out much like what you may see in the Metal Gear franchise itself, with characters doing martial arts moves on dank ports strewn with cargo containers, political leaders shouting to their troops, and
a Metal Gear breaching the water while roaring, as the player is left with the decision of which of two villains to shoot to complete the Episode.
Add in a bonus mode akin to the VR Missions offshoot of MGS1 capped with a bossfight of its own, and for the mere price of 3.99$ (I bought the game for half off during a sale, but think that 3.99 is a fair price for what's on offer here...) I think that Metal Gear fans will find some humor and enjoyment out of what HUNDRED FIRES: The rising of redstar- EPISODE 1 has on offer, just keep in mind that the experience is very brief.

Metal Gear Cuba that carries the original game's feel fairly well, you've got the same type of controls, movement and combat, as well as stealth. If you played MGS1/2 you'll be fairly familiar with this, but it's obviously a lot jankier and lower quality, still fun and affordable. There's the first episode of the story, VR missions as well as randomly generated infiltration missions. Since Konami won't bring their old games to the store we might as well play these. All three episodes are now out and they complete the story, Konami has also brought the original games to PC as well, life is good.
