Unplayable. Got it for less than a buck, and it was too much. Simply doesn't work. Avoid at all costs.

There is a seed of an interesting game here. - "Attack" enemies by spelling words using letters from a grid. - Earn experience points by creating valid words; the amount of exp earned can be increased further by purchasing various perks from the skill tree (see below). - Leveling your character awards skill points, which can be used to purchase perks from any of 3 different skill trees. - Defeating enemies (called "guardians" in-game) may also award runes, which are used to purchase upgrades, which are separate from the aforementioned skill tree perks. - Defeating enemies also grants a chance to award gear (weapons, armor, etc...), which may be equipped on your character.

I find the core game loop of the game appealing, but as it stands, the game is far too unpolished to be enjoyable. This really should have been released into Early Access first.

Here are some issues I have with the game: - There are many instances of misspelled words, which is ironic given the fact that this is a word game. Some examples: - Right on the main game screen, the upgrades button is misspelled as "ugrades". - In the upgrades screen, there is a section marked Inentor. I assume this should say "Inventory". - Also on the upgrades screen, in the Guardian Upgrades section, I see the following text: "LV 1: uardians hae 10% decreased ." - Exiting from the upgrades screen via the Home button presents a popup box that contains a Cancel and Okay button; above these buttons is text that says: " er e " - In the skill tree page, moving your cursor over any of the skill icons will provide a popup with brief description of that skill. This is fine. However, sometimes the popup won't go away at all, even after leaving that screen, going to a different screen, starting a new round of play, etc... The only way to make that popup go away is to exit the game completely then relaunch the game. - Occasionally, during play, random letters will change to blank tiles. The way I get around this is: click on the blank tile, which adds it to the word I'm currently spelling, then erase that letter from my word, at which puts the 'blank' tile back into the grid, but with the proper letter now visible.

More subjectively, I'd personally love to be able to use my keyboard to enter letters rather than having to use the mouse for everything. I'd also like to see various resolution/windowing options. Right now the game simply plays in fullscreen. As mentioned earlier, I like the idea of the game and I want to be able to enjoy it. However, I cannot recommend the game in its current state. It's fairly janky and could use some QoL improvements. I will keep an eye on the game and will update/change this review if the quality improves significantly.

I've just played this for a while moments ago. I actually like it a lot! Being a Bookworm Adventures fan, I find these rpg word games too rare for us casual word gamers. I have not played it enough yet to give an overall ranking. I'll play more to get a better view of it and update my review.
