<3 Go ahead and play Stars in the Trash. Love this animation so much, it's almost like playing a Don Bluth movie or something like that. Disneyish, if I am allowed to comparison, for those who don't know who Bluth is. Buy this, play this, and enjoy the experience, ít's one of these games that's for everyone who loves cats and/or animation. :3

Since I really loved the dev's first game "The Purring Quest" I was really looking forward to this little gem and bought it right at release to support the little team. Shame on me that it took me over half a year to finally find the time to fully play and review it. While the game is a little short and I still prefer the first game in terms of gameplay (which was way harder by the way) you can see all the love that was poured into the game right from the beginning. I really love all the handdrawn backgrounds, animations and cozy atmosphere and music. Definitely a perfect family game, though with a sad story part but a happy ending. If you liked Kimchi from the first game, you definitely have to check out the ending of Stars in the Trash. I really hope we will see a third game with Kimchi, Moka, Tika and friends.

This game is so fun and cute! I had a blast playing this. The gameplay is casual and not very challenging but you still get to do a bunch of stuff. It did make me cry at one spot, iykyk. I wish there was more of it, I hope the creators make more games in the future!

A love letter to classically animated stories.
Charming is the best word to summarize Stars in the Trash. There is so much heart and care that went into the production of this game. The character designs are fun and distinctive, drawing stylization choices from Don Bluth and classic Disney. The animation is fluid and captures those adorable every day behaviors we love our fuzzy felines for as well as warmth and personality. The watercolor backgrounds were immersive and stunning. Seriously. I could gush on and on about those backgrounds. The sound design always fit right into place, never becoming distracting or grating. I super enjoyed the playfulness of it. I found myself frequently grinning while playing this game.
The gameplay is simple, but I actually love that as a change of pace. This game's main goal is to tell its story but still has enough action to always keep you invested. It's about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours long, so it's a perfect for when you're in the mood to play a game but maybe don't want to delve into the more grindy or time consuming ones. Think of it as kibble-sized (bite-sized)! Trust me, it's worth it.
Congrats to the development team on this game! Hand-drawn animation is an incredible undertaking. I hope this opens many opportunities for you all and I'm super excited to see what the future holds for more of these stories.

Short and super cute (and also sad in some parts) Don Bluth style platform adventure with a house cat who escape his home and goes on an adventure. Definitely reminded me of Valiant Hearts in the gameplay, graphics and general presentation. It's very short, and has pretty basic gameplay but is absolutely worth it. And yes, it also made me tear up several times... Guess that's high praise for the devs.
The achievement process was pretty straightforward, you will unlock a lot of them by just doing cat stuff whenever you see something you can interact with, and for any of the collectable ones (do one action at several different places or do something for a specific time) persist in the chapter selection. Still have the speedrun and the 9 lives ones left but they doesn't feal especially hard after you already played the game.
