I played quite some time on this game, especially as a beta tester during its development.
It is best enjoyed in a group of 4 friends:

[*] with 4 controllers
[*] looking for some challenge: game is definitively not easy by default if you do not activate any help
[*] ready to shout at the others mistakes: it is [i]never[/i] your fault of course when you eat your own missiles in the face :)
[*] ready to enjoy the small references (/easter eggs?) in the narration
[*] bonus: with some beverages/food not too far

You'll be able to have several good gaming nights with plenty of laughs before vanquishing all ennemies in the game.
For people unable to play at the same location the remote Steam play is working without any issue: tested with people across 2 differents continents.
You could also play it as a solo thanks to the BOTs provided (the Gunner bot is a real killer and helped me take the best score for one level) but it's definitively better with friends.
