I've gone through loads of VTTs trying to find the perfect one for my games, and finally settled on the RPG engine. It allows you to do incredible things with map design, and you can kitbash pretty much anything you can think of with the vast selection of assets, which you can modify however you choose. It also lets you load in your own 3D assets freely. Even if you don't run a game, it's incredibly fun to build things in the engine and upload them on the workshop for others to use. Most importantly, the Engine has a fantastic community and an active dev that regularly interacts with it and listens to the playerbase.
This might not be the best VTT in terms of user interface and character sheet management, but it absolutely stands miles above the rest in terms of visuals, immersion and creative expression.
