Absolutely lovely game, got all the achievements and enjoyed doing it. I've been a fan of the Moomins franchise for a few years, I've only watched around 4 episodes or so of the old cartoon. When I noticed a game from the franchise, I probably thought I'm a bit too old to be playing a game from a children's franchise, and while the game was quite easy in most areas to make it better for children, I still enjoyed it very much. The gameplay is fun, I love the characters, the soundtrack is beautiful and peaceful, and the art style is unique and great to look at.

It was love at first sight with the graphics. I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy, simple, and beautiful the game is. The gameplay is enjoyable, with tasks that are easy to follow. However, it can get a bit frustrating if you're aiming for achievements, as you often need to replay large sections. Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is a cute little adventure-puzzle game. There's no combat, making it an easy to pick up and play game with lots to explore and find in Moominvalley. I've jokingly referred to this as "ACAB: The Game" since the bureaucratic Park Keeper and his lackeys are the closest thing you'll get to a traditional villain, though his scheme is very easily undone by Snufkin's ability to pull signs up out of the ground (Insert Signs by Five Man Electric Band here). The soundtrack is well-orchestrated throughout, and the storybook aesthetics are huge points in this game's favor; all faithfully capturing the coziness one would expect from a Moomin game. There's unfortunately not much for replayability here, short of trying to get the achievements you may have missed in your first playthrough. For $25 CAD, I expected a little more, but ultimately, the game is good, wholesome fun for the six hours I played of it. (3/5)

This game was really pretty and cute but the story felt really boring and short, I felt like there wasn't much character development and I wish there was more to the story. Also the game play compared to the price is insane, I could see this being like $10 or at most $15 but $20 is actually insane

I honestly expected more...I didn't hate it but I didn't really have fun either. The game isn't really long but it still felt slow. There were no challenges or puzzles. The story was very bland and the characters had no depth whatsoever. Turn the characters into stickfigures and it wouldn't make a difference. And I guess they didn't have any ideas on how to make the story longer so they threw in quests like "Find 3 butterflies and bring them to me" and they are basically next to the person". "Help the mice get home" and you just play the drum once and yay you did it! Also can we stop having missable achievements without chapter selection? Infuriating to need to replay a game just because you didn't look up achievements beforehand.

I played this game with my 2.5 year old son, he seemed to like it. I believe it took something like 6-8 hours to finish the game, so it's relatively short (which is a good thing). The game is very simple and easy to follow. The dialogue between characters is written, not spoken and is faithful to the Moomin-style (we played the game in finnish). I bought this game only because I thought my son would enjoy watching it, and I was correct.
