From the get go I knew this was gonna piss me off. Defeated the 1st boss thinking the game was done but there was a whole rest of the map. Game got harder, kept dying and rage quitted to come back later. But as I quit I then noticed I got all achievements which in my rule book means I completed the game, dont care what you think+ didnt ask + L + ratio + seethe + mald + dev issue + bottom text + based + gigachad + surplus ratio + big chungus + extended ratio directors cut.

Got this game on sale and it delivered! Nice 16-bit era graphics and sound, and fairly good game play. It's a "puzzle platformer", in quotes, since it does have some puzzling, which mostly consists in grabbing boxes that you have to take to some other place where they will activate switches that will open doors or make platforms appear so that you can progress in the level. The platforming part is pretty straightforward, with a very slight metroidvania element in which you get new abilities after beating the bosses, but I can think of only 1 level, out of 57, that you have to come back to with one your newfound abilities in order to get that level's collectible. And they make it pretty obvious, too. I think it's level 2. You get all achievements after beating the first boss, which is, I think, within the first 10 or 15 levels, so there is a lot of extra content after you 100% the game. The bosses are fairly easy, if you have enough health you can just beat them without any kind of strategy by spamming the punch button. There is 1 collectible coin per level, some of them are hard to find, but they're all there, in case you're wondering (sometimes it may feel as if they forgot to add the collectible in a level because the difficulty in finding them varies like a lot). You can actually use these collectible coins as currency to pay for upgrades, of which there are only 2: health and attack power. Alternatively, you can use cards that are scattered through the levels and that will respawn every time you play a level, so you can grind some of them to do some farming even if you don't have enough collectible coins, but the price for each upgrade rises exponentially. The only negative things I can say about the game are: 1) Sometimes you have to restart an entire level if you mess up with the transporting and/or placement of the boxes. The game has checkpoints that "save" the current state of things, even a badly positioned box, so, yeah, you'll have to restart even if you were just about to find the exit. 2) There is a sort of "home level" where both your home and your father are, that's where you buy upgrades and get some little tips about how to use you new abilities. But there is a very high platform with some sort of device. I never managed to reach it, so I don't know what that was about and it's really frustrating. For all I know it could be the way to yet another set of levels or something like that, since you don't actually need it to complete the game, credits and all. But I guess I'll never know. After 12 hours of play and a very apparent lack of response from the devs, I think I'm done with this game. All in all, a very enjoyable experience that I would very gladly recommend to old-school platformer lovers.
