Steelborn is a fast-paced action game that offers a great mix of combat, exploration, and RPG elements. The game is set in a dark and dystopian world where players take on the role of a powerful warrior, who must battle their way through hordes of enemies to save their kingdom from destruction. I like this game and advise to lovers of action roguealike

Super fun run-and-gun 2D platformer with engaging, high energy combat and immersive level design. I had a blast playing through this game. It gives me nostalgia for games I played growing up- as a kid. The game play is extremely fun and engaging, the sound track is killer and keeps great momentum and the story was fun, simple and easy to follow. It was pretty short. It took me just under 6 hours to beat and that was with a bunch of deaths. apart from the length of the game I have 2 real complaints about it and they're both fairly minor. There is a weird performance issue that seems to be related to loading new levels (could be wrong there). After a while in game the game will periodically lag-spike. Its not related to loading in enemies. Its not that big of an issue as simply restarting the game seems to fix it. The other problem I have is the game wont save your key configuration for controller when you quit out. This is also not a big issue as its very easy to reset. Thats really all the negative things I have to say about it. Good job to Vega Horizon Studios On their first title :)

I really really really want to like it, I really do -- but I can't. The premise is great and immediately makes me feel like I'm playing a mash up of 2D Titanfall with a LOT of Starbound mixed in, both of which are my favorite games. The gameplay, however, is where it all comes crashing down. There's no satisfying hit feedback, enemies are bullet sponges, the mech feels way too clunky to use, and nothing feels satisfying in general. I'm not going to refund the game, I'll just put it in the corner with the rest of the games I don't like stay in. Who knows, maybe the devs will fix this game with some patches? I've learned to keep my expectations low, though.

I especially liked the fact that the game doesn't just take you through a straight storyline, but gives you the opportunity to explore the world separately!

2d graphics is the best thing for this game. The game is designed more for recreation: you run, shoot, killing monsters and robots along the way. What else do you need???

An awesome game! You can kill huge hordes of monster combat robot and armed robot pilot. Many different weapons, easy controls. The game is very dynamic. Many different types of monsters will not let you get bored.

This has some promising concepts in it, but fails to measure up to other Metroidvanias and 2D shooters in my opinion. I originally bought it because I love mech games, and the one in this game definitely looks and feels powerful. The second level is extremely fun and well designed, with interlocking objectives, interesting interactions with the mech, and a very graceful map. Unfortunately, that same level of quality does not continue throughout the game, and several issues arose as I got further into it. This game is extremely short - I beat it in 3.6 hours. Then, it misses out on some serious design space for a game that is supposed to be about mechs. There are....no upgrades for your mech. None. It uses the same weapons for the entire game. It feels like the game was advertised to be a mech game, but then when you play it, everything you see the mech do in the tutorial level is all it will ever do. That is disappointing, and a waste of so much design potential. Additionally, the controls are quite a bit behind other games of this type, including weird gun animations and an extremely annoying "hitch" or cancellation of forward momentum upon landing from jumps, in both mech and human form. Based on these issues, I would recommend skipping this one, and picking up one of the other solid side-scrolling action/adventures on PC, like Axiom Verge, Timespinners, ActRaiser or Environmental Station Alpha.

This game pleasantly surprised me. An interesting storyline is present, and most importantly I liked the levels and gameplay. The music, too, by the way, but I would like more different tunes.

Everything on this planet is trying to kill you. Even on the original difficulty you won't get an easy walk.
TITAN-vania
The game is set in a dystopian future, where the player takes on the role of a protagonist, tasked with fighting off hordes of mutant enemies while exploring the ruins of the once-great civilization. STORY/LORE The game's storyline is a bit generic, as it follows the typical post-apocalyptic narrative that we've seen in many other games. Players can unravel the history of the game world by exploring various locations and reading scattered notes and messages. GAMEPLAY The gameplay in Steelborn is a mix of exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving. The player must navigate the game's open-world environment, which is filled with enemies, traps, and hidden treasures. Combat is fast-paced and satisfying, with the player having access to a variety of weapons and abilities. The game also features RPG elements, such as leveling up and skill trees, which allow the player to customize their character's abilities to suit their playstyle. The puzzles in Steelborn are challenging but not overly difficult, requiring the player to use their wits and observation skills to progress through the game. STYLE(GRAPHIC/SOUND DESIGN) The graphics in Steelborn are impressive, with detailed environments and character models. The game's art style is unique, with a mix of sci-fi and steampunk elements. The environments are diverse, ranging from desolate dungeons to futuristic cities, which adds to the game's immersive experience. PROBLEMS While Steelborn has some positive aspects, it is not without its problems. Here are some of the most prominent issues with the game: -Repetitive gameplay: While the combat in Steelborn is fun and satisfying, it can quickly become repetitive. The game's enemies are fairly predictable, and there is a limited variety of weapons and abilities to use against them. As a result, some players may find the gameplay to be monotonous after a while. -Lack of direction: Steelborn's open-world design can be both a blessing and a curse. While it allows for a lot of exploration and discovery, it also lacks clear direction. Some players may find themselves wandering aimlessly without a clear objective or sense of purpose. -Thin story: While the game's setting and lore are intriguing, the actual story of Steelborn is fairly thin. There are few characters to interact with, and the game's main questline is relatively short. As a result, some players may feel that the game lacks depth or substance. Despite these issues, Steelborn may still be worth a look for fans of action-adventure games looking for a new experience.
