very fun

Though it definitely shows the fact that it's early access, this is already a very good game with 10 hours of playtime in the one released episode, if you're like me and "enjoy" secret hunting. I cannot wait for more.

I had a lot of fun with whats here and I think even in it's current early access state it's well worth its price. Really looking forward to the next episodes.

I usually never give out reviews but something about this game really impressed me. IMO its really hard to keep boomer shooters fun after a couple levels but the charm of the jank voice acting and the fun things you can do with the sandbox and the sheer amount of tools you can experiment with really is just awesome. Please support these devs and keep up the good work gators. also hangman spell is peak

[h1]I LIVE... AGAIN![/h1] It's been a while since you were able to play as a resurrected force of pure vengeance due to undeserved sacrifice. But unlike Caleb, our girl here don't mind using [b]fancy magic[/b] and resorting to [b]cannibalism[/b]. Yes, no more heart diet, you get to chew on every delicious body part. Unfortunately tossing explosives here isn't as satisfying. You know what is? [u]Everything else.[/u] [b]COVEN's gameplay loop is unhinged mass murder of anything that dares to cross your path[/b] using satisfying roster of weaponry mixed in with dashing, sliding and slowing down time. Learning the ropes and getting the hang of combat is so enjoyable you might start feeling sorry for poor schmucks game throws at you. [b]Fortunately[/b] the level of gore is something else entirely, ludicrous gibs could be achieved after almost every encounter and if you like this stuff, maniacal laughter will accompany you throughout the entire journey. You can dismember enemies, poison them, put them on fire and all of it while they are alive, their suffering is well animated. Score bonus points with your inner psychopath by slowing down time during those moments. It's cathartic. [b]Music supplements your bloodthirst[/b], yes it's metal again, thanks DOOM, but if it's done well, I see no point in complaining. It gets repetitive at times, but you spend just enough time in a level so soundtrack doesn't start annoying you. Hopefully it'll only get better in later episodes. In that case I'd gladly buy the soundtrack separately to show my support. [b]Location variety keep experience fresh[/b] and exciting, you'll visit places from village outskirts to plague infested city and even sewers from 1600s. Can't wait for Civvie to make a video about it. Later levels are not as detailed when it comes to prop amount or environmental storytelling, but it delivers the mood adequately, so you are eager to find out what comes next. Secret hunting isn't a chore, yes, no wall humping, everything is delicately integrated in the world. Thank you. [b]Difficulty is a bit tricky[/b]. I played the game on hard and It took a while before combat fully opened up. It happened when I got my hand on some upgrades and ability to gather mana from corpses. Before that is feels more like you are surviving encounters while maintaining your limited resources rather than embracing the power fantasy. There is just not enough space for experimentation. [b]However[/b] someone could argue that [u]you are earning said power fantasy[/u] since pass it's middle point of 3-4 hours you start feeling like a true badass, and it's even more satisfying to replay previous levels with later unlocks. Game is definitely worth checking out. Even though it's in early access with some aspects being underdeveloped it's a very solid product and I can't wait to see what awaits us in the future. It's very unique, fun and I hope it'll be on equal footing with games like Dusk and Hrot.
