I only played this for a little bit, but I think this game is best played in short bursts anyway. So far I really like the game, even if it is difficult and I'm not the best at it (~_~''). Passing in particular seems to be my weakness, since collisions can cost alot of health. If you have played rally or offroad racing games in the past, more so on the sim side of things but even on a more causal level, I think you would enjoy this too (and it helps that the simpler graphics can run better on more PCs, altough some visual touches such as shadows or tire tracks would be nice too. The music fits well imo). Patience is key, though, and knowing that winning isn't everything in this game can help with that. I hope in the future (or sequel) the dev(s?) can add minor visual customization or more rally/rallycross inspired elements, such as jumps, puddles, and possibly a stadium-like biome. And while I'm perfectly happy with a single player experience, I feel like local mutliplayer would suit this game well, considering the vertical orientation of the tracks for splitscreen. Even sharing one screen, it could function more like Micro Machine's style of "steal the screen" gameplay. But I digress, I think this game is more than worth you time at base price alone, and I am really excited to see if the dev expands on this concept further. Please try this out if you are interested :)
EDIT: I should add that Buggy Game is not a "Buggy" game, everything seems to work pretty well.

Great game, handling and feel is fantastic and sound design is superb! AI are brutal and the sometimes narrow tracks can be punishing, which makes it all the more fun when you score an overtake! Definitely an "easy to play - hard to master" kind of game; requires masses of concentration!

Buggy Game is a great little simulation racing game. I've been putting most of my free time over the last 2 days into it, and have been noticing improvements in my driving ability. It's very satisfying to aggressively approach a corner, release the throttle, then back on the power as you over take an AI or two through the turn. Sometimes you bounce them into a wall, but don't get too carried away with the damage to your car!
For a modest price, you get:

various cars with different driving characteristics

a variety of track types (varying in how tight the track is, palette etc.)

Championship mode & Single Race mode

tracks are procedurally generated, minus the tracks in Time Attack mode

Time Attack mode features 'ghost' cars for your and the developer's best times

a competent AI with no cheating

re-bindable controls

difficulty options

sweet techno/drum & bass soundtrack
HIghly recommended!

Seems like a fun game so far, and it's Deck compatible. It's still in early development and could use a few more features such as turbo boosts or maybe vehicle weapons to mix up game play a little bit. Also, this game is pretty difficult. Allow more difficulty options, maybe like choosing the starting position instead of always starting in 10th or make it so the AI makes mistakes. Multiplayer would also be a lot of fun.
It would be cool to see vehicle mounted guns that use the right joystick to aim separately from the movement of the vehicle or just anything that used more of the steam deck’s features. Increasing the price would also be OK if it gets more development.

Unfortunately, I think most people would look at the graphics of this game, and pass it by. And on the other hand, if the dev went the extra mile and updated the graphics (let’s say roughly neo geo rally game style) I think it could really get the recognition it deserves! But either way, this game rules, just get it already!

Good fun! Plays well with a keyboard too. Not actually buggy, except once I saw Keanu crash through a mountain and disappear into the void. That was radical.
