In the works game with HUGE potential! Can't wait to see what this game may become in the future. If you are interested at all in biology or science I recommend trying this out!

The worst UI and controls I have ever seen in a game and its been in early access for almost 4 years so I doubt it will be changed.

I love this game! It's exactly what I was hoping it would be when I discovered it. It's a bit overwhelming at first, perhaps it could use a few simplified phases to help the player get the hang of the particular mechanics - there's often too much text and you might get lost in all the information. But once you understand the basics, it's really about crafting your own little specie and it's so satisfying to watch it evolve. It's already exciting this early in development and I think there's a lot of potential for further growth. I just hope the developers manage to fulfil that potential. I wish them a lot of luck and I'm looking forward to the final version of the game.

Really cool project, lots of interesting science and a good feeling of progression, can't wait to see how things get built out further.
the first stage is fully playable, but the early multi cellular stage is bare bones and the multicellular stage is very early.

I didn't noticed I spend ~6 hours in it.
It has the same charm as Spore. But it is more deep and realistic in presentation. (Yet, only early Cell Phase is playable).
I kinda feel sad that I could only afford that much support for the persons making this. (But that's shows how it will not die out from greed, like Spore did).
To be honest the game is so promising, it would be the original, And Spore is just like Thrive.

I think the game has a lot of potential, the easiest way to describe it is Spore's cell stage, but far more advanced. A lot of things are not implemented currently, but that's okay, this is early access after all. A lot of things are not balanced, and there's a few bugs here and there. But the bugs are few and far between, and usually just minor graphical bugs, The first stage is really the only one that's playable right now, as the second stage, multicellular, is just a lot more of the same, and anything beyond that is barely even in the game, let alone playable. But at this stage in development, I feel like the game is worth just five bucks to support further development of it and spend a few hours playing. Looking forward to see how it turns out!

Very early stage! Don't buy, if you expect good gameplay with few bugs.

This is what spore promised but failed to deliver. The choices you make here have significance for your organism. Its simple to learn and fun to play. Its is short I have played thru in 3 times in 11 hours. I think there are some more things to test out but this is not going to be a time swallower.
Good things:
- Easy to learn and experiment with.
- Well presented graphically
- Clear impacts from your choices and good info to help guide your choices.
Downside is that the evolve mechanic needs reworking.
1. to allow you to abandon a well developed organism and see how it prospers once launched. Moving to an interesting daughter while allowing the original to continue to prosper.
2. to pivot more advanced organisms to enter new environments.
At present every change you make immediately affects all versions of you bacteria in every environment even if two colonies are isolated. And the inability to pivot more complex organisms to enter new environments greatly restricts the ability to move between biomes. This is because you can't affect more than one or possibly 2 features a cycle and that is insufficent to traverse some biome boundaries.
There will also be a danger as this develops of keeping the simulation/ gameplay balance right, so far I think they have done a good job. At £4 this is a worthwhile buy and its worth supporting the developers.

It has promise, but there's not much to the game past the 2 hour mark. Once you hit multicell stage everything is unbalanced and a mess. Trying to advance past that stage is nearly impossible due to the imbalance of chemicals and the huge amount of competitions.
Overall, the game is a bit too complex for my liking. I was hoping for something more simplistic like Spore, but this is more heavily science driven to the point that it make certain things far more difficult to understand. After 3 hours I'm fairly pretty much done, having done everything that I am capable of doing. Part of that is my own skill level and the complexity of the game, but part of it is are the long periods of chemicals being no where in sight, or disappearing before I can get there. Movement is about 25% too slow for my liking as well, despite remaining fluid.
Maybe this game will get better as development progresses, but as it stands this might be up your alley if you have the stomach to handle complexity and heavy science.
