Game Balance, UI Issues & Progression Feedback I sincerely wonder if the developers actually playtest their own game. There are numerous questionable design choices that become immediately apparent during gameplay: Underpowered Weapons Standard weapons feel woefully weak, making early-game progression unnecessarily difficult. Counterintuitive UI Systems Sentry gun ammo display is poorly implemented Suggested fixes: Display ammo count directly above the turret Or implement a unified ammo HUD in a corner of the screen The reload interaction is broken when standing directly behind the sentry gun Missing Basic FPS Mechanics No jumping is understandable (likely to prevent exploits), but: The complete lack of crouching is baffling - this could help with recoil control At minimum, we should be able to vault over sandbags or low obstacles Poor Late-Game Incentives Game becomes repetitive in later stages Proposed solutions: Introduce special reward levels at milestones offering cash/weapons/facilities These could serve as both progression boosts and tension relievers Current endgame only offers XP - needs additional rewards like: Loot crates Weapon skins Unique facilities Facility cosmetics Final Thoughts The game shows significant potential but needs these fundamental improvements to truly shine.

I know what they were going for, but this game is insanely easy. Just buy one mounted turret and everything dies. No need to worry about ammo, perks, nothing. There's no challenge and even the bosses are stupid easy to kill once you understand the gimmick behind them. If you want additional information feel free to comment and I'll reply.

Not a lot there, but a solid foundation. Later runs can kill frame rate, I hope the dev is working on that or else it will be like his earlier game. On sale it has enough content to keep you busy with a few friends.

Chinese review in the bottom. The game's building mode is very simple as long as you find the right position to defend. Then I think the design of the mines is a bit too simple and has very low practicality, because the weak monsters always appear first. When the boss appears, the mines on the map that can hurt them have basically been trampled by the weak monsters that appeared earlier (using monsters to sweep mines?). I think it would be more practical to add some mines that are only triggered by bosses (such as the teller mines in the Company of Heroes game that are only triggered by vehicles), or just rely on explosive barrels, but the problem is that the automatic turrets may accidentally shoot at the explosive barrels in order to shoot the monsters. The biggest disadvantage of the electric floor is that it is too easy to be damaged, and its HP cannot be increased by enhancement means. I think the most important thing for this game to improve is defense... No, it should be said that the game method has not deviated from the original 2D tactical concept. Players cannot set up turrets on obstacles such as walls or tables, and characters cannot even crouching shot or jump over obstacles; the defensive building part can only included defensive units, and without any floors, load-bearing columns and ladders, so the defense aspect cannot cover the Z-axis height difference tactics at all. Because players cannot build a multi-level defense line by setting up ladders and multiple floors plus load-bearing columns, which makes players' use of space in the game very inefficient. Players who have played Fallout 4 should have no difficulty discovering this. In addition, even if the player plays the role of a killer in the game, this combat expert profession can only learn the simplest and crudest damage amplification skills of various types of guns, but there are no skills to increase shooting stability, accuracy, and reduce recoil. To be honest, this surprised me very much. After all, any FPS game with a skill tree or talent tree design will definitely have this kind of skill, or simply increasing gun proficiency can directly enhance all shooting abilities of this type of gun. Of course, this aspect also improves the effects of shooting accuracy, stability, and reducing recoil at the same time. On the contrary, the direct increase in damage has relatively no direct relationship with skills. Instead, this part should be designed in the gun modification and enhancement, which is more reasonable. These problems I mentioned are actually just the parts that I personally hope the design team can improve for this game in the future. This game is still a game with considerable potential.

If CoD zombies and Killing Floor had a baby that was able to build defenses. This is that. Fun game to play with friends has a lot of work to be done, but quite fun.

If you like Killing Floor and CoD zombies you must try this. There is tower defense elements that give nice spin for zombie killing. This is even more for those who like Orcs Must Die series. It's still early access and way lower budget game so don't expect perfectly polished game. Fun round based zombie survival with tower defense. There is game mode for "just survival (without building)" if you don't like tower defense. TLDR: Lower budget survival combining TD from Orcs Must Die + Perks from CoD

Game can be described as a mix of Killing Floor 1 (classes, monsters, art style) with oldschool COD Nazi Zombies. (barricading windows, pack-a-punch machines, mystery boxes) and some tower defense mechanics (building defenses and turrets) and soft roguelike elements. It's an interesting mix. Currently the game is in early access, and it lacks map variety, and gunplay and gore is not very satisfying, but this can hopefully improve in the future.

Ultimate Zombie Defense 2 is a fast-paced tower defense game that plunges players into a relentless battle against waves of the undead. Building upon the foundation of its predecessor, this sequel amps up the intensity with improved visuals, a broader variety of enemies, and deeper strategic elements. The game captures the essence of classic tower defense gameplay while injecting enough new content and challenges to keep both newcomers and seasoned players engaged for hours on end. At its core, Ultimate Zombie Defense 2 tasks players with defending a series of increasingly difficult levels by strategically placing towers and using special abilities to fend off hordes of zombies. The game features a diverse arsenal of defensive options, ranging from basic gun turrets and flame throwers to more specialized units like sniper towers and electrified fences. Each tower type has unique strengths and upgrade paths, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations to find the most effective strategies. The placement of towers is crucial, as players must anticipate enemy paths and optimize coverage to prevent zombies from breaching their defenses. One of the standout features of Ultimate Zombie Defense 2 is the variety of zombies players face. The game introduces numerous enemy types with distinct behaviors and resistances, including fast runners, armored zombies, and even explosive variants that can damage nearby towers. This diversity demands constant adaptation and prevents the gameplay from becoming repetitive. Additionally, boss zombies appear at intervals, providing high-stakes challenges that require careful planning and quick thinking to overcome. The escalating difficulty curve is well balanced, offering a steady increase in complexity without feeling unfair. Visually, the game embraces a colorful and slightly cartoonish style that makes the zombie apocalypse feel energetic rather than grim. The environments are detailed and varied, with backgrounds that change as players progress through different levels, adding a sense of progression and immersion. Tower and zombie animations are smooth and expressive, enhancing the overall polish of the game. The sound design complements the visuals well, with satisfying gunfire effects, distinct zombie noises, and an energetic soundtrack that keeps adrenaline levels high during intense waves. Ultimate Zombie Defense 2 also offers a range of game modes and challenges, adding significant replay value. Beyond the standard campaign, players can engage in survival modes that test their endurance against endless waves or time-limited challenges that push strategic efficiency to the limit. Leaderboards and achievements provide additional goals for competitive players, encouraging them to refine their tactics and climb the ranks. The inclusion of upgrades and unlockable content further motivates players to continue progressing and experimenting with different defense setups. While the game succeeds in many aspects, it’s worth noting that the complexity and fast pace may overwhelm some casual players initially. The need to constantly monitor multiple fronts and manage resources efficiently demands attention and quick decision-making. However, the game’s tutorial and early levels do a good job of easing players into the mechanics, allowing them to build confidence before facing tougher challenges. In summary, Ultimate Zombie Defense 2 is a robust and engaging tower defense game that offers a fresh and exciting take on the zombie survival genre. Its blend of diverse towers, enemy types, and escalating challenges creates a dynamic experience that rewards strategic thinking and adaptability. With polished visuals, immersive sound design, and multiple game modes, it delivers plenty of content and replayability for fans of tower defense games and zombie-themed action alike. Rating: 8/10
