This game is the definition of a hidden gem. Clearly inspired by games like Xenogears but also forging its own path, its been a blast to play through so far. The plot is deep and engaging, and the world building is also top notch; great care's been taken to make this setting feel lived in and alive, and it shows that the creator's really thought about a lot of the world's history. The combat system is challenging and engaging while also never feeling frustrating; there seems to always be an option to skip a fight if you want, though I personally enjoy how much some of these battles have made me work for a win. I also want to praise the music. I've really enjoyed most of the tracks here, and feel they can stand up with some of the best classic JRPG's. Elohim Eternal has a few minor issues; some of the routine combats can get a little repetitive. The game also throws you in pretty deep with the lore right off the bat, with many terms being tossed around. Even mid game I've had to look things up to be able to fully follow along. But a glossary is thoughtfully provided that helps clear up confusion and mostly gets you up to speed. Overall though the highs far outweigh the few minor quibbles I have. This is a great game and I look forward to seeing where the series goes from here. I highly recommend it even at full price.
