I don't think this should have been published. I mean it's not an expensive game so I knew what I was getting, It's just not done. It's missing a lot of polish that would be present in a longer development cycle, or with more feedback. Here's what I've noticed: - UI elements overlap when different actions are performed. - Animations are not blending well. Enemies T-Pose when in water. - Characters have dead faces, they don't move at all when talking. But, the character models do seem ok. - AI isn't that intuitive. - I only heard 2 tracks of music, so no variety. - Style isn't consistent.
I saw Homer and Marge for some reason.
- Most places are square, empty and uninteresting. - No Autosave in an open world game? That seems like a requirement for these types of games. It just feels too ambitious for a first game.

Lockes The Thief is a Goldilocks game that hit the sweet spot in several ways. Its mechanics were not overly complicated, and I felt I didn't need to invest a huge amount of mental energy in order to play it well. They were, however, detailed enough to keep me engaged throughout the entire game. Its difficulty matched its mechanics. Lockes The Thief isn't overly challenging, but just challenging enough to make me consider different strategies when I died. One of the bosses took me about 10 times before I figured out how to beat him, and when I did, it was very satisfying. The narrative isn't overly complicated, but it gives you just enough story to keep you hooked and interested in the characters. The game doesn't give any overbloated backstory about its world and its cast; it gives us the basics that are told in a way that makes you love the protagonist, Lockes, within minutes. Lockes fits the big-hearted, anti-hero persona well; he exudes a charm and swagger that makes me hope to see him in future games. It lacks polish in, IMO, ways that are fairly insignificant. But where it lacks in polish, it more than makes up for in charm. I really enjoyed its bright, cartoonish style. I loved sneaking around and yeeting unsuspecting enemies. I loved that it kept me wanting to play without demanding too much of my mental energy. I've gambled on many indie games under $10 and I usually wind up disappointed; Lockes The Thief definitely did not disappoint for its modest price tag. If you're looking for a more casual action RPG style indie that succeeds in capturing the basic elements of what makes a game fun without too much pomp and circumstance, then I would recommend this game.

Lockes The Thief is a fun and challenging 3D stealth platformer that puts you in the shoes of Locke, a rogue who must stop his former allies from unleashing a dark force upon the world. The game has colorful graphics, smooth controls, and varied levels that test your skills and wits. The game also has a catchy soundtrack and some humorous dialogue that add to its charm. If you’re looking for a game that combines stealth, action, and puzzle-solving, then Lockes The Thief is worth checking out.

LTT is a fun, digestible game in an interesting fantasy setting, with engaging sneaking and combat mechanics. The player character's style and presence are really unique and fun. Enemy designs and attacks are varied, and the level design gets increasingly interesting as you progress. I really enjoyed the animations, the colors, and the music. It's a fun game and well worth the asking price. Excited to see more from this developer in the future.

Lockes is one cool dude. The music goes nicely with his smooth swagger. ;) This isn't my usual style of game. That said, it was pretty fun. It wasn't too hard for me. I was babysitting a little boy and let him play too and he really got a kick out of it! I would say it is kid friendly which is really nice. You don't see that a lot these days. It has some minor bugs and glitches, but that's to be expected for an Indie game. I agree with others who say it could use some extra polishing. I think it's a bit too open world for what it is. That said, for a game that's solo developed and made by one person I think it is worth the price. I haven't beaten it yet. Looking forward to seeing what this developer can do next with his second game. The developer seems to respond well and fixes things when people have problems. (There was a major game breaking bug in the beginning that they fixed promptly - can't tell you how many games I've loved but have had to give up on bc the devs never cared enough to respond which is super irritating!) Nice to have that small community feel to a game. TL;DR: +Kid Friendly +Cool Vibes +Music +Developer response +Price - Indie solo game, so expect some bugs. - Could use some polishing.

This is a fun game! Especially for it being a first game for a developer, I think it's great. I definitely recommend this game to those looking for something that's fun, a story, and an adventure. Of course, since it's a first game, there are improvements that can be made in the graphics (which are still pretty excellent) and the overall game play but I love this game. I can't wait for the next establishment!

This game starts out feeling pretty simple, but once you get through the tutorial stage and figure out the controls, the world really opens up. One tip I would give to the player is to make sure your weapons are equipped when attempting to perform the sneak attack. I snuck up behind a few enemies and didn't see the prompt for the sneak attack, but tried anyway just to sit there doing nothing. Realized I didn't have my weapons equipped and tried it again with them equipped and had no issues. You really need to sneak in this game in order to take less damage and survive. I enjoy playing this game with an Xbox controller. Anyway, I would highly recommend this game!

Tons of fun, and a great value for the price! I loved the way the environment opens up after the initial tutorial area! I've really enjoyed following the development and iteration process on Twitter, and it's great to play the final product--well done, (Pad)Lockes!

I'm having a fun time with this simple action RPG on my Steamdeck ! I am enjoying the tongue in cheek narration by Lockes and dig zipping all over the map to tackle enemy hordes! There are a few small bugs and the framerate dipped a bit when entering the second map but this is a fun classic exploratory action game! Great job team!
