"The Red Exile," is a first-person survival horror game that introduces roguelike elements through procedurally generated maps. Players are tasked with performing an exile rite to eliminate a relentless pursuer before falling victim themselves.
Pros:
- Dynamic Replayability: The procedurally generated maps ensure that each playthrough offers a unique experience, maintaining player engagement.
- Adaptive AI Antagonist: The pursuer's AI learns from the player's actions, increasing the challenge and tension as the game progresses.
- Perk System: Players can unlock and equip various perks, allowing for diverse strategies and personalized gameplay.
Cons:
- Repetitive Environments: Despite procedural generation, the limited variety in room designs can lead to a sense of monotony over time.
- Simplistic Mechanics: Some players may find the core gameplay mechanics lacking depth, potentially reducing long-term engagement.
- Technical Issues: Reports of bugs and performance issues, such as crashes and input lag, can disrupt the overall experience.
In conclusion, "The Red Exile" offers a fresh take on the survival horror genre with its roguelike elements and adaptive AI. However, repetitive environments and technical issues may hinder the experience for some players.
Score: 7 out of 10 candles—A flickering flame in the horror genre.

Very good early access, dynamic and exciting gameplay. Right now, you can escape from a maniac with the purchase of bonuses through an intricate labyrinth. Recommend!

Definitely not ready for play yet. This doesn't feel like early access, it feels like pre-alpha.
I played a few runs here, so check it out before you plunk down your cash: https://youtu.be/96QJ59x2r0Q

Has potential, but not there yet. Game can be beat in less than 3 minutes if you're lucky finding the objectives, candles. And then there's no reason to keep playing except to grind out the remaining perks.
Longer Review:
At the time of this review, there is one map, one killer, and 5 candles to find. You go room to room trying to find the candles and bring them back to the ritual spot. Additionally you may find crowbars to open blocked doors and cola to increase your speed. Randomly the killer will go into a rage and start breaking down doors to find his way to you. There are two options, either find a locker to hide in or just keep running until his rage wears off. At this point in time there isn't much difficulty, and something is needed to keep the game interesting past the first few runs, although I'm not sure what could be added alongside keeping the "trapped in a red room" theme.

This is as basic as they come. You just have to grab 5 candles and place them in a pentagram to escape, while avoiding a killer who instant kills you if he gets too close.
However, the gamer does not tell you this when you start. It just dumps you into the game and lets you go. When you win, you are awarded perk points which you can then use to buy different perks to start the match with.
This does nothing for the replayability. It's the same looking map every time. It's the same sort of match every time. I wasted 97 cents on this and regret it.
