This is where I'll leave my heart.
Every time I come across some amazing story, I'm afraid that it was the last time, that I'll never find something that can embrace my soul so much. I'm not saying that the stories that come my way are bad. Not at all. They are interesting, they arouse emotions in me, they entertain me, intrigue me and so on, but they are not able to get through my skin, flesh and bones to reach the core. However, the "Royal Order" proved to be more than capable of doing this.
This game is excellent in every way.
To begin with, this is an exciting story in which, importantly, there is an opportunity to build a romantic relationship. This is a visual novel, but it doesn't consist solely of text, images, and choices. It also allows you to upgrade your character using other methods and think strategically. In addition, the game has different difficulty levels, which makes it even more interesting, although, I admit, I did not take the risk and choose the most difficult level, since my weak heart would not have survived a large number of deaths, and it was already faced with a sufficient number of them. Yes, some characters in the game die. Basically, these are not the most significant characters that appear in the story as a "shadow," but I would be lying if I said that it didn't hurt me to lose them, because every character in the game became dear to me. I wanted to know their stories and not know their deaths, but alas. It's also worth noting that this visual novel is beautiful, in all terms of beauty, but at the moment I'm talking specifically about visual. I was especially attracted to the chibi drawings. It's adorable, but everything else is beautiful too. Actually, I can talk for a long time about the advantages of this game, but I don't have enough space, so I'll just say one thing: for the first time in my life, I'm meeting a story that absolutely meets my desires. This is exactly what I was looking for, and what was worth looking for. It merged with my soul and now it will stay with me forever. I thank everyone who participated in the creation of this masterpiece. But I would be a bad review writer if I didn't point out the cons, but I hasten to assure you that they don't really exist. How come? Well, first of all, there's something that I personally would like to see a little differently, let's just say, but it's nothing more than a matter of taste, so it doesn't count. Secondly, there were probably some flaws or mistakes in this visual novel, because no one and nothing is perfect, but I was completely engrossed in delight, so I didn't notice anything. Well, and thirdly, it wasn't enough for me. Actually, with each new week, I thought that the game was about to end, but it went on and on, and it delighted me every time. But, anyway, when the story ended, it still wasn't enough for me. I've enjoyed every second of this game, but I would give it even more of my time if it were possible. I'm interested in knowing some details, something that happened after the final scenes or even before them, I would like to read about the fate of some characters, even those who were mentioned only once, and then only in one route. Oh, I would like everything, but I perfectly understand that the developers simply did not have the opportunity to satisfy all my desires, they gave me enough, so this is also not a con. I am grateful that "Royal Order" happened in my life. And I just hope that this is not the last delightful story on my way, but in any case, this is now my favorite story, which is second only to one animated series that became a part of my soul when I was a child. Love to all.

dark silhouettes were very annoying and made the game feel lifeless without the faces of the people you talked to

I highly enjoyed both Royal Alchemist and Royal Order so it would be hard for me to decide which one I prefer. Overall, they both present great story with interesting characters. Each of the available paths add something to the world building and to the plot, however one path is visibly more developed and feels like the "true ending" (
Emrys
) but I think all of them are worth completing. I recommend playing these games in order as Royal Alchemist provides more context to Royal Order so I'd say pick both of them up if you are interested.

If you played the first game it's a brilliant sequel, got me crying for some of the characters. You don't need to have played the first game to get into the story and it really makes me want to see where the world's story will go from here.

As someone who really enjoyed Royal Alchemist, in my opinion Royal Order's game play seems more forgiving. The risk/reward of Royal Alchemist has its thrill. Downside is rolling and save scumming took a lot of irl time. I like that stat building is more focused plus the addition of new stats to manage (war effort, suspicion, and approval). A good expansion on the universe.
