Not the Best RA Game, But Still Worth a Play --------------------------------------------------- If you're here, you're probably a fan of RTS games — or at least a fan of the Red Alert series. Red Alert 3 isn't a great RA game by traditional standards, but it’s still a good game in its own right. It's unique, fun, creative, and absolutely wacky — which gives it a certain charm. Pick it up for nostalgia or grab it on sale. You can still have a good time with it. I just wish the campaign was better designed for solo play. The entire campaign is built around co-op, so if you play alone, you're forced to have an AI partner — and that doesn’t always make for the best experience. The game gave every unit a unique ability, which made it both interesting and frustrating at times. Resource gathering also took a step back — the ore collection system feels worse than in previous games. I think the added emphasis on naval combat, with many buildings now placeable on water, led to changes in the economy system that didn’t quite work. TLDR: ------------------------------------------ Still, a thumbs up overall for what it is — flawed, but still funny and fun.

I would describe Red Alert 3 as tedious. Every single unit you can build has a special ability that can turn the tide of battle. The human brain maxes out at about 5-7 choices. If you love the challenge of multi-tasking then this game is for you. The gameplay is fun, but not as fun as Red Alert 2. The cutscenes are the best part, especially Tim Curry and George Takei. The soundtrack is fantastic and really makes the game. It changes the gameplay from previous titles to be more complicated but still manages to be fun. 4/5 Needs more Yuri

EA is such a stupid company that they shut down the servers for this game :D bbut the game is still very beautiful and fun tho. No strategy game can beat CQC!

Top tier gameplay, best acting. Wearing tf out by micromanagement. BTW, don't expect to have RA2 feeling here, it's somehow totally difference atmosphere.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 is peak alternate-history absurdity, where time travel shenanigans lead to a world war fought with war bears, psychic schoolgirls, and battleships that turn into mechs. It’s an RTS that takes the usual base-building formula and injects it with enough campy energy to power a small nation. The gameplay is tight and fast, with three unique factions that feel wildly different yet balanced enough to keep multiplayer chaotic but fair. The co-op campaign is a standout, letting you team up with a friend or an AI who sometimes acts like they’re trying to lose on purpose. The real highlight, though, is the live-action cutscenes—featuring an overqualified cast chewing through dialogue so hammy it could feed a village. It’s silly, it’s explosive, and it’s the last time the series leaned fully into its charming mix of ridiculousness and solid strategy. Red Alert 3 doesn’t just let you wage war—it makes you do it while smiling at the sheer nonsense on your screen.

Command and Conquer Red alert 3 is a fantastic game. I really enjoyed it. However, it has been completely abandoned by the developer and there is absolutely no way to play this game. You want to play with your friend? Too bad. There are no servers. You can play LAN, but only in scirmish matches. The brilliantly designed coop campaign doesn't allow LAN (for some reason). Don't worry though (you think), you found forums talking about command and conquer online, there are still servers, this can be done! WRONG. It can't. You have to jump through many hoops, disable security features on your machine, ignore malware warnings, save passwords as plaintext in some sketchy website fan project, use vpn's and just generally break all the practices of reasonable computer users. Perhaps if you are willing to do all of that, then you can still play this game. If this were just a review of the game, I would say that its great. It really was a fantastic game. But since this is about whether I recommend this game, I absolutely cannot. Its abandonware and its not worth hours of your day trying to set it up only to his walls with malware and pathetically bad workarounds.
