Visually the game looks good and has a nice sound track, however the game felt more like a woke DEI simulator, whereby you're placed in Japan with a diverse cast of mostly non native Japanese characters. It ignores biology in favour of using that fantasy based pronoun nonsense and from what I understand the developers have mostly abandoned this project. Because of this I'd suggest people look elsewhere, as there's an abundance of farming/life sim style games on the market to choose from that are better than this.

It can be glitchie at time but for the most part you can play it on your steamdeck

Fun to play, I like the world and vibe of it - just not the caves. Very few performance issues for me, good updates being made by the dev too. Game has a TON of potential, which sadly probably won't see the light of day.

Hrs played at the time of review: 151.6 This game is very cute. At first, the two different art styles were a bit jarring but once I got used to it I enjoyed it. The hardest thing about the game (Besides the bug hunt quest) was trying to not rush through the game as quickly as possible. Most farming sims pressure you to rush through the game to get married whereas with Sunnyside just being part of the community is the goal. The fighting came as a bit of a surprise as I'd only seen the game promoted as a farming sim and fell in love with the gameplay style for the farming part however while a little repetitive the cave fights were a very fun surprise. The game is very replayable and the game’s community makes the game all the more enjoyable. The devs taking the time to listen to what the players want to see for the future of the game is also a massive plus. While there are a few bugs that crop up occasionally they don’t make the game unplayable, some are incredibly endearing. Nothing quite like riding a bike to speed down a hill at 8AM and being launched 100 miles across the map. I recommend buying the game even if it isn't on sale but would say to keep in mind that the game has just left early access. If you’re looking for a charming relaxing farm sims that focus on the community rather than marriage and a small Dev team that actively looks for their players' inputs then this is the game for you.

Its a fun and quirky game, but unfortunately it's looking like it's never going to be finished. I will still rate with a thumbs up for whats there, but so much more could have come of this. I hope that Aftabi Games are able to pull through and make it past this hurdle and become successful. In the future, be sure to get a fair deal with the publisher! I would recommend getting this on a discount of 50% off or more.

While the 2D artstyle is very pretty, I personally can't stand the 3D models. They feel very unpolished still. For just one example, during character creation, it's pretty clear the artist doesn't really know how to model properly just yet. Some hairstyles have very haphazard shading, others are a single solid object with 2D tufts clipping out from inside of it, and they all seem to be 2D textures drawn on a hair guide instead of actual modeled chunks. The eyebrows are too close to the forehead, leading to clipping for some expressions on certain face shapes. Certain eyes also clip pretty badly on certain face shapes and eyebrows, to the point of needing to pick and choose the eye/eyebrow/face combination that blend together properly instead of one you like the look of. And it's fine if they're still learning! But they might have wanted to get much more experience in modeling with programs outside of VRoid before creating models for a full release. Gameplay-wise, it's... also very unpolished. The game is riddled with collision issues, controls feel very floaty and it's difficult to aim with during tasks like watering/taking selfies/building, the physics are also very floaty and super sensitive. I one time ran into a wall at a snail's pace with the bicycle and launched myself over the wall. They're trying to get everything right, for sure, but it definitely needs more work. The story and characters are okay for a cozy game. Not really much to say about them, they're not terrible but not the greatest thing in the world, either. Gabe is probably the most fleshed out and interesting character in the entire game, but other than him, no other characters really stood out to me. The rest felt kind of bland. The story was also okay. Not interesting enough for me to get invested in, but not boring enough for me to stop playing. Personally, I think it peaked when I first found Sparky, but then it took a nosedive from there. Optimization is just really bad. Granted I'm running this on a laptop, but I can run other, graphically heavier games like Palworld and Sea of Thieves just fine with no issues for hours. This game runs at a solid 30fps at first, and about a half an hour later, it's dropping to 15-10-5fps before I need to just restart the game. Overall, I really hate to give this game a bad review because it's clear the devs, writers, and artists are trying and pouring their hearts into their work, and they're a small team so I get they aren't going to have an awesome AAA-title. But this game feels like an unfinished college project in almost every aspect. Which would be fine for an early access title. But this is a fully-released game on multiple platforms. The state it's in currently is unacceptable for a full release, in my opinion.
