I'll preface this entire review by saying this. This game is fun. It has a core loop that is genuinely fun, and has a lot of potential to grow and evolve. I'm eagerly following the development of this game and I really hope to see it grow into something great. But at this current moment, even while on sale, it's not anywhere close to being worth the money being asked for. The game only has two real pieces of enjoyable repeatable content: Arenas and Destruction. Arenas, while fun, lacks variety. I don't mean that map variety is particularly bad, but the gamemode itself lacks variety. Outside of upgrading yourself mid-match, there's very little to do. There's no shakeup in gameplay like modifiers (lower gravity, only explosive enemies, etc.) and the lack of enemy variety only further amplifies problems with the mode. It's by no means a poorly made mode, it just lacks the spice that it needs to remain interesting. Destruction is the mode with by far the most potential. Procedurally crafted levels that involve arenas separated by gauntlets of parkour is actually a good concept, and this is the only the mode that shows by far the most progress. The parkour sections have parts the actively utilize the warp mechanic, and even spawns in enemies that that can prove as a nuisance. The only gripes that I really have in the mode is that there's both a lack in variety in terms of arena/gauntlet designs, and the enemy variety is once again very barebones. Most of my enjoyment from this game has come from this mode. It shows incredible promise, and just needs more touching up. Maybe add a boss at the end of each run, and possibly make the randomly chosen upgrades you find have more noticeable or goofy impacts (maybe an upgrade that reduces friction)? While the gameplay has a great foundation to build upon, the leveling and upgrade system is an utter slog. The coins used to purchase Boosts aren't given out a good rate, and the leveling up system just feels boring, unrewarding, and slow. In its current form, the leveling system almost feels discouraging. While weapons aren't difficult to get, the primary form of progression through the Boosts is annoyingly slow to go through. It feels like it was tacked on to artificially increase playtime. Regardless of my negative stances on this game, I do hope that it will grow into something amazing. Other things could use touching up, like how weapons feel and how enemies react to... dying. But at it's core, this has a ton of potential. But at the current moment, the price being asked for compared to what content is on offer here is nowhere close to being worth it.

31 Jul 2022 Edit: Note that the game has been set to $10 (from $15) while in Early Access development. I have not changed the rest of the review to reflect this, but I wanted to acknowledge it here. 25 Jul 2022 Edit: Full Review edited after first game update in more than 3 months. This review is split into 3 sections; one for TL;DR, one to review the changes in the latest update in detail, and one for the base game review itself.
TL;DR Review:
This game lacks the content it needs to justify its price, was evidently rushed for release, and hasn't seen any new actual gameplay content since before launch. 3 Guns, 3 Melees, 2 Gauntlet maps, 2 Arena Maps, and 1 Destruction map. The gunplay and sounds range from underwhelming/unsatisfying to annoying. Development progress fails to address the game's repetition, gameplay issues, and lack of content. The most recent update has improved the visuals, but added a slew of new bugs and issues, drastically decreased performance (toss aside the suggested minimum specs; it's meaningless), and failed to bring any substantive or important changes. As you can see from the Developer's reply, "more content is coming". The issue is that the game is not priced for the content that's actually in it. The game is priced for quality and substance that, with the current development pace, would maybe be here in 5 years. The asking price is metrics too high for the current state of the game, and with the proportion the game would need to be improved to change this, the identity of the game as a whole.

"Pretty Dumb Update" Jul 25th Changes
After the latest update (and yes, "Pretty Dumb Update" is it's actual name), trying to compare what the game has now versus what it had before is useful. Let's go over the changes. Added features:

Updated graphics. The old visual style was definitely lacking, and a major improvement has been made. But visual fidelity should have been far from a priority for Idiotic, and the update has brought as many issues as it has solved, which I will get to.
Updated interface. The new interface is an improvement for sure, and now shows the player's level progress after they die. The update also added damage numbers, which is nice, but they're blurry and hard to read.
Updated every environment and map. These changes are largely superficial and don't change the gameplay much, with the exception of the Destruction map, which has a more interesting but far less replayable arena.
Minor balance changes (one of the identically-feeling melee weapons does slightly more damage from speed now, and one gun has had its clip size nerfed by 20%).
Exploding drone proximity SFX have been replaced with a less ear-piercing but equally annoying sound.
Newly-introduced issues:

Performance. Framerate has been cut in three, even with the lowest settings. I used to get 120fps in the previous update, and now get at most 40 with the same settings, and never more than 60 with every setting at its lowest possible. My GPU is 1600% faster than the suggested minimum specs.
Readability. Enemies are black and the new visuals add contrast and overcast lighting to the environment, making enemies sometimes nearly invisible. In addition, pickups are much dimmer as well, and as such very hard to see. Even if you can see them and are really close to them, it's hard to tell what the pickup even is. The new damage numbers have too much light bloom and suffer from the same readability issue.
Progress reset. Every player has been reset to level 4, with the same specific combination of upgrades and unlocks. My guess is that whatever progress the developer was experiencing with while testing got saved into the update files and now every player has been reset to his progress level.
Alt VFX. Before, the VFX in the alt were disorienting and made it harder to see. Now, it's even worse: in addition to the aforementioned, the player has a milky fog completely hiding everything beyond like 10 metres.
Camera Clipping Behind Walls. The player's can now clip through walls behind the player in certain areas, completely obstructing their view from anything in from of them / the wall.
Unaddressed/unchanged issues:

Progression. Grindy, drip-fed progression system is the same.
Movement Bugs. Major movement bug locking the crouch-slide is unfixed; an issue the developer has acknowledged three months prior and promised a fix for, but has not suggested he's made any progress towards resolving.
Off-centred crosshair has still not been moved; another seemingly simple issue the developer has acknowledged, now multiple times, and not fixed.
AI. Stupid enemy AI is still stupid.
Alt Zombies, required to kill in order to heal the player, are still weirdly scattered, and hard as f##k to find. This is only amplified by the new, very-near fog VFX in the Alt.
Flying-enemy pathfinding still gets stuck around corners and walls, a major issue for the Destruction mode that requires the player to find all enemies and kill them before moving on.
Lack of air movement control has not been changed, which is a much bigger issue now with the new Destruction map that requires precision platforming: the player must land on thin platforms and grab tiny pickups mid-air.

Full Review:
This game is not worth $15, even in Early Access. A fair price is $3 (or $5 tops) in its current state. The value simply isn't there. It is my opinion that Idiotic was rushed for a planned release date. I started playing this before its release, in an old demo. The increase in amount of content the game had on $15 release compared to the demo was almost negligible, and now, more than 4 months after release, the only major change is an update to the game's visuals, with no gameplay additions or major alterations. (The game only has 3 Guns, 3 Melees, 2 Gauntlet maps, 2 Arena Maps, and 1 Destruction map.) The Visuals update has also cut the performance into a third, and the suggested minimum system requirements are now a complete joke. The visuals are the only thing that has been worked on to any notable degree, as shown in the development channel of the discord and suggested by the latest updated. The previous visuals were admittedly underwhelming, but aesthetics are far from a priority for a game this lacking in content with as unpolished a gameplay loop. The gunplay is unsatisfying and underwhelming, and the gameplay is repetitive with a grindy progression system: an impressive feat for a game with three guns and three melee weapons, and an average of less than two maps per gamemode. Sword With Sauce is a similar game only priced at $3 but with more content, better enemy AI, better maps, and overall more satisfying gameplay that I would recommend as an alternative to Idiotic. It can also actually run on low-end/low-mid-end computers. Do not buy this game with the hope of it getting better. Buy it when (if) the price can actually be justified, if that day ever comes. I already hear word that many of the plans to make changes to improve the game are being set on the sideline and potentially scrapped. I hope this game's potential is reached one day. But the light at the tunnel actually seems further than on launch, and I'm starting to lose sight of it altogether.

I've followed this game, as a playtester and follower, for a small while, and I've got a few things to say before people look at the giant thumbs down on my comment and leave. Please just read this or CDrive's review for a good insight to this game currently. This new visual rework is very cool and well done, but, with the wrong computer it just doesn't work. I can barely play for a second without the gun losing it's texture or the level not rendering and looking bad. When it does work, however, and for me that hasn't happened yet, it's very pretty and the level design and decour is very well done and i have got to hand it to Ayen, it is really pretty. I really like the visual update but it isn't really working for me... might be because of my computer or maybe it is something with the game but for now i am probably gonna refund the game until i get a good, working, solid computer. In other words, the combat is very fun but can get reeaaally repetitive, and once you get stronger, most enemies feel like ants and you're a giant streamline of piss, wiping them out mindlessly. At that point you just feel like you're Rambo "The Rock" Wick because of how easily you can wipe your ass all over the enemy's faces. I think if you're considering about buying this game, wait for it to get better, it isn't worth it's current price but there can always be a comeback, like Vigor.

I really like it and it has a lot of potential but it seems like there isnt really a goal to it, but once again the mechanics are 10/10 also would be cool if you could go above 144hz and change keybinds
