I really enjoyed this one, green filter included. There are plenty of well-timed jumpscares and a few light puzzles. The story is told through diary pages. Make sure to save before you find the final cell keys, as you have to make a choice to complete one of 2 endings. There are some really evil doings in this orphanage. Poor kiddos.

I enjoyed this game... but I really wish there had been more. The reviews that were left about the game being bad because of the "color scale" in the game were unfair... all it meant was I had to use my head... and I did. I feel like the game could've even been made a little longer to delve into the lore inside of the orphanage... and why the events that transpired happened (but I won't give away too much just for the sake of spoilers). Regardless of the reviews that were left "negatively"... give this game a chance. It was really a good time on stream.

Orph - The Lost Boy - Check Out Our Steam Top Horror Picks + Review
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYYVVkLen7A
Combining fuzzy, low-fi VHS style visuals reminiscent of Grave Encounters and Paranormal Activity, Orph - The Lost Boy delivers some effective jump scares, a spooky location to explore in an abandoned Asylum, and a chillingly intriguing premise concerning the mysterious disappearance of your son, which, ultimately left me longing to learn the truth.
Throughout the game, you'll be searching for clues in the form of diary extracts via flashlight while discovering essential items to power the electrical generator and progress. So essentially, think along the lines of an investigative missing-persons case with exploration elements and interactive puzzles.
Though some of the puzzles and clue gathering sections play out in a somewhat cryptic fashion, mainly due to a grainy color scheme making it challenging to discern items at times, Orph more than makes amends with some surprisingly effective jumpscares, alongside a handful of cleverly crafted, well-staged frights that succeeded in lifting my pulse on more than one occasion.
All in all, Orph is definitely one to play for fans of psychological horror.
VERY SPOOKY
a horror walking sim with puzzles that lead you through the story
I was very weary of this game going in due to what others have said about the game, but despite the other reviews I was really happily surprised with this game and I really enjoyed it. This game took me around 2hrs and 40 minutes to complete (would have taken me around 2hrs flat if i didnt have to restart a few times)
DISCLAIMER: the game does not auto-save and if you die you fully restart the game REMEMBER TO SAVE (i may have restarted 3 times before i realized i had to manually save)
The atmosphere was definitely frightening and I really enjoyed the stylistic choice of the green filter I think it definitely added to the overall ambiance of the game. I'm not proud to say it but every single scare got me... and even when I knew it was coming it got me again. I got the absolute booty scared out of me on multiple occasions.
I enjoyed the story behind the whole game, but in some parts, I do wish I had more background details and just more overall. I did get stuck a few times, but that's honestly user error, the objects were well hidden and I am very bad at finding things evidently.
The only thing I really wish was changed is the overlapping music from the one room. It got overwhelming at times being able to hear two different songs being played at once depending on where I was standing.
I would definitely recommend giving this game a go. Especially for the price it is worth playing I really enjoyed this game and I was absolutely terrified while playing it.

It is hands down one of the worst games I played in a long time - both story, puzzle and preformance wise. Feels very beta somehow, a lazy beta. I mean the game looks alright - but that is about it.

i thought the game was pretty decent, the color filter does hurt your eyes after a little while. but aside from that gameplay is smooth and the jump scares are well timed.
there is no checkpoint saves, so remember to manually save otherwise if u die ,u start over from the beginning.
atm one of the achievements seems to be bugged ( trophy hunter) when i tried to collect the trophies ,it just un highlighted the item instead adding it to my inventory.
Aside from that no other issues in the game, that i noticed. I managed to finish the game and will replay it for sure to get my last trophy, once its patched.

colour filter is cancer. it's all green all the time. and that's made even more problematic by the fact that some puzzles require u to distinguish different colours, which is near impossible given the filter. I stared at a blue cube for an hour not even knowing it was blue ffs
